Out of sync 4hr candlesticks.....how can I fix it?

Jabroni8

Question

Hello All,

I've come across a random issue in PRT (within Spreadbet) whereby the 4hr candle for US markets is not synchronised compared to UK, Germany, etc.  Normally, the 4hr 'countdown' starts 00:00, then 04:00, 08:00, 12pm, etc......this is the time pattern i see for UK 100 however for US 500, taking today as the example; the 4hr candle should of started at 08:00 but instead it's starting at 09:00.

Does anyone else get this problem or have any suggestions how you fix this?  I don't have this issue with PRT CFD, I've compared my settings between both PRT instances and they are the same.....yet I get this bizarre issue in PRT Spreadbet platform.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi @Jabroni8

The current time zone set on your ProRealTime(PRT) platform is UCT+01:00 Europe/London. The time zones chosen affects all data including times displayed in charts, order lists and tick by tick lists. If you want the time setting on your PRT charts to match the IG Web platform time zone, please use the time zone UCT+00:00. You can change the time zone by selecting settings on PRT Toolbar > Time zones and Trading hours and click on Display all data in this time zone.

You can have a look at this post on our forum on how to enable custom trading hours and weekend data.

Hi Admin,

That's not the solution I'm afraid.  For example; at the time of writing this (7:37pm), the 4hr candle in PRT for Spreadbet shows the 4 hr candle with 1 hr and 22mins remaining.  In PRT CFD however, it (correctly) shows 22 mins remaining.

How do I bring the spreadbet PRT inline with CFD so that the 4hr candle closes correctly?  setting the timezone is just to show the data in a given timezone, it doesn't do anything to when the candle 'clock' begins and finishes.

    • Market Breakdown | WTI Oil, EURUSD, GBPNZD, EURAUDHere are the updates & outlook for multiple instruments in my watchlist.1️⃣ WTI Oil daily time frame️The market is trading in a long term bearish trend .After the last sharp bearish movement, the market is steadily recovering.Ahead, I see a major horizontal supply area.Probabilities are high, that the next bearish wave will initiate from there.2️⃣ EURUSD daily time frameAfter a breakout of a solid daily resistance, the market is preparing for its retest.Watch carefully the underlined zone and look for buying opportunities from there.3️⃣ EURAUD weekly time frameThe pair is currently approaching a weekly horizontal resistance cluster.Taking into consideration, that the pair is quite overbought, probabilities will be high to see a pullback from that4️⃣ GBPNZD daily time frameThe pair is currently retesting a broken neckline of an ascending triangle . As we discussed earlier, the trend line of a triangle and its neckline compose a contracting buy zone now.Chances will be high that the next bullish wave will initiate quite soon. For Additional confirmation use: Divergence Indicators
    • #CHFJPY: Classic Bearish Setup 🇨🇭🇯🇵   🔻CHFJPY has nicely respected a confluence zone based on a horizontal 4H resistance and a 0.5 retracement of the last bearish impulse.   The price formed a double top pattern on that and broke its neckline.   Probabilities will be high that the pair will drop lower soon.
