CREST Number required - Transfer from Global Stocks and Rewards Shareworks to IG

Thatch

Question

Hi

I would like to transfer some save as you earn shares which are maturing soon to IG. However as part of the transfer, they are requesting a CREST number which IG transfers team have said they can't provide. I'm at an impasse here as I can't proceed with the transfer from the previous broker without this information. Would appreciate some help with this.

Hi @Thatch

It is against IG policy to give clients the CREST number. We normally share this with the broker once they submit your transfer instructions. All brokers are aware of the process, therefore you would be able to submit your instructions without IG CREST number. If you need assistance with your broker, please email transfers@ig.com for more assistance.

Thanks for the feedback @OfentseIG. However I can't get past the page on the broker's site without a clearance code/CREST code. How would you suggest I proceed with this or is there a different reference I can put in there for now?

@Thatch @OfentseIG Did this ever get this resolved. I have the same problem. Thanks

@craigtdannUnfortunately just been sent around circles and had both the share broker (transferor) and IG (transferee) both saying CREST numbers can't be provided, IG says the other broker has to get in touch, the broker says IG needs to give me the CREST number as I am the account holder.

This is just very frustrating and disappointing hence, I've had to go ahead with the existing broker instead of transferring to IG which is such a shame.
