Close Price of Security Data

I have wondered for quite a while without getting a clear explanation as to why IG does not include the Daily Auction closing price and volume in their charts. You will find that say trading stops at 16:50 (in the case of South Africa Johannesburg Stock Exchange) and the last closing auction goes out at 17:00. This 17:00 trades are usually accompanied by huge volume and are significant to the daily price movement. However, IG excludes this price on the price chart/data hence biases the traders decision which would be based on incomplete data of the trading activities of the day. Is there any specific reason as to why this data is excluded?

    • Is that a trick question..? I'm trying to have a broad picture.  And to consider (and develop an understanding of) as many influences on prices as I can.
    • And just so you can 'get where I'm coming from' for the last 6 months here is a data set from Asia I posted way back in February (Daily Dashboard thread). Looks pretty similar doesn't it and certainly a million miles from Ferguson's model predicting hundreds of thousands of deaths.
