Hello,
I was running a paper trading algorithm today and two strange things happened, which I don't think I have seen so far. The first thing is that at some point my order gave me the following error:
Could not close deal <deal ID>. Reason: ORDER_LOCKED
About half an hour later, the market suddenly dropped way below the stop loss that I set, and that was not triggered. Now, I understand that stop losses are never guaranteed but that still seemed strange to me given that I was trading NDX, which has quite high a volume. It also seems like a strange coincidence that the order locking and the stop loss not executing happened at around the same time.
I am wondering, what is the explanation for this? I am obviously missing something here so I would appreciate some insight into what else I need to be taking into account. Particularly under what conditions might one's order become locked.
Many thanks.
