    Hi @mondrian

    Thanks for reaching out.

That is only for closed positions.

    All the best,

    Ofentse

    Thanks for your reply.

Are you sure about that? Let me be more specific. Total adjustments break down as follows:

    1. Commissions
    2. Overnight funding
    3. Stock borrowing
    4. Guaranteed stop premiums
    5. Dividends in & out
    6. Corrections
    7. Other adjustments

It makes sense that commissions are only included at the time of sale (not sure if the buy component is combined with that at time of sale or counted when the purchase is made). However this would be weird for ON funding, stock borrowing and dividends. It doesn't seem feasible to only include these only at the time of sale. For example if you held a position in a commodity for a year, you wouldn't see any record of the daily overnight funding until you sold. This would make Analytics useless for tracking the real day to day adjustments.

    Hi @mondrian

    Thank you for reaching out.

We post these in your account and send email once credited or on the same day of posting. Rebates will be posted by the 3rd working day of the month and reflect as 'Volume Based Concession' in your ledger summary.

The process to incorporate in MyIG is not finalized yet but you can contact your Account Manager for more information.

    All the best,

So is there some other way I can verify the deposits? I'm asking because recently I received a fairly large rebate but didn't notice any change in available funds.

  3. Near the top of the Trade Analytics homepage, there are 3 items listed:

    • Total return from closed positions
    • P/L from closed positions
    • Total adjustments

Obviously, the first two items apply to to trades that have been closed for the selected time period.

Would like to confirm that the Total adjustments figure (commissions, overnight funding etc) applies to BOTH open and closed positions, not just closed positions.

  4. Over the past 15 years I've used a few different brokers. In the early days especially, I used to post a lot of suggestions in the relevant forums or even talk directly to developers. However, I've never had a suggestion implemented, even when a dev told  me - That's a great idea! I did once point out a serious new bug to a broker, but even then I had to invest considerable time proving that the fault was not on my end before they looked at their own systems.

It's possible that my suggestions haven't been that useful. No problem with that; this is definitely not an ego thing. I can also understand that changes may take time and that you can't have all the features you want in a platform because it can become too resource intensive. This is probably true more so with Web platforms.

Without trying to sound cynical, sometimes brokers behave almost as though traders are the ones who work for them and that brokers are in a better position to judge what features are important.

    Anyone's thought or experiences appreciated.

  5. I track various daily moving averages but never use the daily time frame for trading. So I actually draw arrows indicating the current position of the various moving averages so I can see where they are on the chart time frame that I trade in. I need to update the arrows every couple of days which is tedious.

It would be helpful to have the option to lock an indicator to a time frame somewhere in it's configuration panel.

  6. AUDIBLE ALERTS ON WEB PLATFORM WHEN STOPS ARE HIT

It defies belief that you would provide audible alerts for filled orders but not for stops. I don't think there is a trading platform on the planet that lacks this feature. I have to have my mobile phone alerts turned on so I know when stops are hit.

This must be benefiting IG somehow at the expense of it's customers but I haven't yet figured out how.

Hi Mondrian, just in case you don't know. There are audio notifications for entries and stops in Prorealtime. Female or Male default voices say stuff like "Buy at market executed" for stops/targets it says "Sell/Buy Limit executed, exit with {Gains/Loss}". You can also use your own audio files.

    Hope this helps.

PS: This is a great idea and would be cool to see it implemented in the web platform.

Thanks, I've been trialing PRT. Like it but the lack of tick volume on FX could be a problem.

  8. The web platform generates an audible notification when positions are opened by the system but not for positions closed. I've never seen a platform behave that way. You have no way of knowing if a stop is hit unless you happen to be looking at the notification panel. It's a nuisance to be constantly checking when you are trying to get on with other things.

Also, it would be helpful if the sounds for opening and closing of positions were different.

  9. It would be helpful to be able to filter notifications to certain types with checkboxes.  I don't find it helpful to have notifications about new orders I've placed or position modified, mixed together with system order closed/opened notifications. The latter notifications are far more important and you don't want to be scrolling through other notifications trying to find them.

Alternatively you could expand the functionality of the History Panel to includes orders opened. I don't understand the point of a history panel that only shows the positioned closed and not the ones opened.

  10. I wasted 10 years making suggestions to improve the platform with another broker. Not a single one was implemented, even when tech replied they thought it was a good idea. I'm not trying to be cynical at all - it's their platform and their business. However, if there doesn't seem to be a track record of listening to users then I would rather spend my time differently.

    Cheers

  11. I'm having issues with both the mobile app and the web platform.

The mobile app was fine for many months. However since last week only some alerts were coming through and for several days now have stopped completely.

With the web platform, when a buy/sell order is triggered, I always get an alert but never for a stop loss triggered. It's been that way for about 4 months now and tech support can't shine any light on the matter.

  12. Firstly, I think it's very unusual that a supposedly 'pro' platform like PRT has no volume for commodities and no tick volume for forex (aside from that, I love it).

For commodities, vol data is available from the exchange and for forex it's always substituted with tick volume which is also available. There is no excuse when every instrument on the web platform has volume. Furthermore, I checked with the PRT developers and if you access the platform directly from them, you DO get access to volumes. I can't understand why IG doesn't address this issue.

That being said, I'm wondering if it would be possible to code a tick volume indicator from the tick data that comes in. I'm only just starting to get my head around the coding features of PRT but someone with more experience might be able to answer this.
