  1. @CharlotteIG - something you can help with/advise on?
  2. The IPO was yesterday for Pershing Square Tontine Holdings on the NYSE. I can buy stock on Commsec, but it's not listed on IG yet. What's up with that? Why is IG slow to list a new stock? The stock price jumped 6.8% on the open. Would be nice to be able to get in before much more of a price rise.
  3. Second that. Sharesight is great tool. Relatively inexpensive and you can possibly claim as a tax deduction. If you're into international stocks, it's great (or in my case not so great! 😭) to see the impact on currency swings on the stocks you hold.
  4. In previous SPPs for positions held with IG, I'd receive an email from the IG Corporate Actions team asking if I wanted to participate and providing instructions on how to do so. I did this earlier in the year with NAB and it went across fine. You really are at the mercy of the IG Corporate Actions team though. Oh, and btw, you also can't contact the Corporate Actions team directly. You need to go through the helpdesk if you have any questions. It's a 50/50 chance on getting a satisfactory answer there... Agree that it's way easier having CHESS stocks and receiving the SPP directly from the issuing company.
  5. It really depends on the time of day that you call. During trading hours in Australia, we seem to get bumped to a local team and the response is still slow, but reasonable quality. Outside of those hours, I think we hit international call teams and the quality is questionable. Agree that email response quality is terrible. And if you're getting a response in a week, I think you're one of the lucky ones!!
  6. Hi, Can anyone provide IG's clearing number? I'm trying to transfer stock from IG to Commsec and require the clearing number. I called IG and they said they can't give it out (!). So, if anyone has it, that would be great. B
  7. To follow up on this, I received a third payment today. So, one quarterly distribution was split into three payments over two days at three different exchange rates. I also noticed another dividend payment in my history from last week, again oddly taxed at about 31%. Does anyone know how you can see details on what dividend amount IG receive, what tax was withheld, and what the payout was? It makes it virtually impossible for me to report foreign income and tax withheld when I have to try and reverse engineer and guess what has happened.
  8. I have Brookfield Renewable Partners (BEP) stocks. I received the first quarterly distribution payment yesterday. It was supposed to be USD $0.5425/share. What I received from IG was the distribution split into two payments (one for about USD$0.14/share and one amount for around $USD 0.02/share). So, in the end, I only received 51% of the actually distribution. I'm in Australia, and to my knowledge, US stocks have a holding tax of 15%. So, why is the payment split into two, and why on earth have I only received half? BEP is a Master Limited Partnership, and I know MLPs have some different tax rules. Could this be it, or is this an error from IG? BTW, I've emailed and currently have two mobile phones on hold with IG. Haven't been able to get through all day, and no response to my email.
  9. Thanks. Was wondering what was going on with my German holdings!
  10. Yes, all my positions are now gone and the customer service number is not working. WTF.
  11. You would have read about the new bill that just passed through the US Senate aimed at providing more reporting rigour for foreign companies listing on the US exchanges. Many are reporting that, if the bill passes the House, then it could result in many Chinese companies delisting and shifting to either the London or Hong Kong exchange (if they aren't there already). My question: if you own shares in, say, Alibaba on the NYSE, and the Alibaba delists and shifts to the LSE, what happens to those shares you own on the NYSE? Do you lose them? Do they transfer? Cash out?
  12. I called the helpdesk today. The guy on the other end of the phone said the last four calls he'd had were for the same thing, but, given it was Sunday morning, there wasn't anyone around to look after it. He did confirm that all positions are showing in their system, and he seemed to be able to quickly identify which I couldn't see on my screen. So, they're aware of something wrong. I think the thing I don't like the most, besides the error, is just the lack of communication. Why not a tweet, an email, a message that says 'hey, we're aware something's wrong and we're working to fix it'? How hard is that. Pretty standard practice for any web-based business.
  13. I'm missing positions from the ASX, LSE and NYSE. So, it isn't limited to US positions. Have had no response from the help desk via email. Attempting a call...
  14. @CharlotteIG Is this something you can assist the community with? I notice others in different forum posts are complaining about the same thing.
