Stop guaranteed min 225 pts away

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I still don't understand what happened yesterday just before I wanted to trade EUR/USD. Few minutes before I wanted to buy, because I expected rise of the EUR/USD price, Stop guaranteed changed from 5 pts to 225 pts!! and I was unable to buy because of huge margin. I lost opportunity to earn money on this transaction!!

Other weird thing is that once price stopped rising at peak, guaranteed stop came back to normal value 5 pts, so I guess someone was reponsible for this change. I did some screenshots from this situation.

Has anyone had similar situation? Is that normal?

Hi, not sure what time zone you are in but the guaranteed stop would be automatically adjusted because of the high potential for increased volatility for the up coming news event, this was the ECB rate decision which was the cause of the spike on the chart.

I am having the same issue with you. The guaranteed stop increased massively and I missed few opportunity due to that. I have checked other currencies and commodity, it seems all the guaranteed stop increase as well.

Someone please help !

Does guaranteed stop is automatically adjusted only in IG or other Forex platforms as well?

Very few brokers even offer a guaranteed stop and they all increase the amount on expectation of, or during increased volatility. They would be mad not to as everyone would just slam in bets with a 50/50 chance of a big win and zero chance of negative slippage if wrong.
