(Reuters) -BlackBerry Ltd beat Wall Street estimates for third-quarter revenue on Tuesday, helped by sustained demand for its cybersecurity and Internet of Things products.

Demand for cybersecurity software has been robust as more businesses and government organizations migrate to cloud-based solutions to support remote work during the COVID-19 pandemic.

BlackBerry posted third-quarter cybersecurity revenue of $128 million and forecast that to be between $125 million and $135 million in the fourth quarter, below an estimate of $143 million by one analyst, according to Refinitiv data.

U.S. shares of the company fell 1.2% to $9.14 in extended trading.

Chief Executive Officer John Chen said on a conference call that BlackBerry expects automotive supply chain issues to ease in the fourth quarter and help boost demand for its QNX car software, used by automakers including Volkswagen (DE:VOWG_p), BMW and Ford Motor (NYSE:F).

BlackBerry reported a net profit of $74 million in the third quarter, compared with a loss of $130 million a year earlier.

Excluding items, the company broke even on a per-share basis, beating analysts' average estimate of a loss of 7 cents per share.

Revenue fell to $184 million for the quarter ended Nov. 30, from $218 million a year earlier, but beat analysts' average expectation of $177.25 million, according to IBES data from Refinitiv.

    • Every investors top priority in choosing a crypto exchange is security of their assets. Over the years, many exchanges have come and gone due to varying factors. Some packed up as a result of mismanagement of users funds, others were due to security breaches like hacks and some due to harsh bear market condition but in the midst of this, Bitget continue to shine, soar and expand across board with the latest report seeing the exchange protection fund record a new ATH of over $400M in the month of November. No doubt the month of November was quite good for crypto however Bitget protection fund was around $330M four months ago. Very drastic addition in my opinion, while some exchanges seems to be having different issues like lawsuit, hacks and some even packing up due to bankruptcy, it still beat my imagination what Bitget is doing differently to achieve such significant milestone. What are your thoughts about this development?
    • Considering the impact of Lisk LSK to Defi and web3 and the simplicity it provides for developers to transfer skills more rapidly for the building of dApps. Am confident that the token will highly be sought after. I have deposited some of my LSK on Bitget to share from the Airdrop event to celebrate the listing of the token on the CEX.
    • Thanks for sharing @THT I highly doubt that gold will fall below the 1900 level, which is the lowest support level on the monthly time frame. Right now, the current pullback in gold is nothing but a FALSE MOVE to the downside which ALWAYS takes place before a REAL BREAKOUT. This FALSE MOVE can last no longer than 1-3 time units and is simply the REQUIRED movement of markets. Gold is setting up for a major sling-shot to the upside.
