Dow Avoids the ‘Bear’ but Recession Fears Can Pull Risk and Push Dollar

A bounce from the US markets after an extended holiday weekend has curbed fears of the ‘value’ oriented Dow index from capsizing into a ‘bear market’ designation. We will see how long that lasts. Meanwhile, recession fears continue to build and rate forecasts are an active volatility driver.
