UK unemployment rate rises as more return to work

Recommended Posts

The Covid-driven early retirement movement seems to be unwinding as a squeeze on household income drives people to return to work.

This has come out of today’s unemployment data which has seen a rise in joblessness from 3.6 to 3.7% of the working population.

As IGTV’s Jeremy Naylor explains it comes just ahead of the Bank of England’s rate decision where it’s widely expected that base lending will rise another 50bps to 3.5%.
