New to share dealing & interested to know if there are any additional requirements to trade Australian stock?

Hi - you may need to turn on your data permissions if you haven't already. You can do that in MyIG > Settings > Data Feeds.

I have access to the ASX but wondered if there were any tax forms etc required such as the W-8 in the US.

No you should be fine in this instance, although this shouldn't be construed as financial tax advice. There are no regulatory requirements from our side.
