It always moves downward. When the Ex-date arrives, the share price will fall by the amount of the dividend per share which means the price of the Index will always fall. OfentseIG

That means the price for FTSE 100 will drop by 0.67 points. If you are short, your account will be debited by the dividend adjustment as this is a public announcement and not price speculation. We have a FTSE Dividend Adjustment Example on the website. All the best, OfentseIG
