Stock ISA

ramblers926

Question

Hi,

I am considering moving my ISA over to IG. I am particularly interested in the trading platform that can be used for ISA stock trading.

Is the platform for ISA the same as that for spread betting? What are the features and functionalities, e.g. what order types are supported? Is it possible to get hold of a demo account for this?

Furthermore, what are the charges and how does one go about creating an account and have existing ISA transferred over from an existing provider?

Thanks

Hey @ramblers926,

The platforms are similar however there are differences.

You can have a price from the market maker, a limit order, a stop order or a market order.

If you pick a limit, stop or market order you can choose the expiration date:

We don't have a demo for an ISA account as it's too hard to replicate in a demo environment. You can open a live non-leveraged account though with no obligation to fund if you want to see the features.

With ISAs we have a £24 quarterly fee. If you trade any commission you pay will be deducted from the fee. ( if you were to only to place one trade commission £10 the quarterly fee would be (24-10= £12)).

You can find the full list of fees here: https://www.ig.com/uk/investments/share-dealing/costs-fees

I want to open an IG ISA account for this year 2020-2021.

However I have used up all my allowance this year.

Can I open an IG ISA account then transfer cash from an ISA account of another provider  ( trading212 )?

thank you

Hey,

If you wish to transfer your ISA from another provider to IG you can do this. You will find the form on the MyIG page by selecting Live accounts> Make sure your ISA is selected> Stock transfer

Once completed we will reach out to your current provider and arrange the transfer.

If you wish to transfer out of IG you need to contact the provider you wish to transfer to and the will contact us.

All the best

If there is cash on the ISA make sure you leave it with your old provider and mention the cash on the form. You can't withdraw it from your old provider and deposit it with us. It has to be transferred across using the form.
