Thanks for the question, a share will usually be restricted from short positions if we are unable to lend it from our broker. This can be influenced by a variety of factors such as: Small market cap, if the share is undergoing a corporate action or heavily shorted shares.  In some cases we are able to borrow against our own inventories, so it is best to contact the helpdesk to check for borrow.
