DRP and HIN

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Don't why IG is refusing to action/prioritise the request for dividend reinvestment plan options and a HIN.

I raised this back in 2017 (beneath) - to be told regulatory priorities were being prioritised over this capability, that was over two years ago.

Considering the fact the trading platform does not fully work on Mac OS (charting etc) its to work out where development efforts are being directed.. I have and will continue to advise long term investors to stay away from IG - if it were not for certain US markets I would have closed my account back in 2017.

Also now, wanting to sign up for an IPO - no HIN available, as per beneath closed thread - they just keep on sweeping this stuff away like nothing happened or was requested.. no future request tracking or proper feedback.

Why have a community and forum and pretend to be taking feedback on board when nothing can be actioned or prioritised?

CHESS  (and it's HIN) is only used in Australia and for stocks traded on the Australian Securities Exchange whereas IG use the Custodian Model which is the global standard, can be used for any international stocks and is also more cost effective so they are not going to change.

There is no promise but it is hoped that DRiP will be on the new share dealing platform when it arrives which can't be far away as the old platform uses Flash which is due to be discontinued by Adobe very soon.

But remember, trading isn't a guaranteed shortcut to quick cash. It takes discipline, risk management, and continuous learning.
    • After a poor finish to last week, Asian markets mostly traded in negative fashion on Monday, though some bargain-hunting in the Nikkei lifted that index off its lows. With major central bank decisions out of the way for the time being, the focus now shifts to the possibility of a government shutdown in the US. House Republicans are making efforts to consider stopgap funding measures to stave off a shutdown. Today's major events include the German IFO index, plus testimony to eurozone lawmakers by ECB president Christine Lagarde.
