You have a few options here Jakylls

Open Offer (information here: https://www.investopedia.com/terms/o/openoffer.asp )

If you have a long positions can:

  • Do nothing. The Offer will lapse on your account (Market Default).
  • Take up the Offer. You will need to either reply to the email from Corporate Actions which we sent out or call IG to notify us of your instruction to Take Up before the deadline.

If you have a short position (only possible on leverage accounts) can:

  • Hold your position until expiry and risk being taken up against meaning your Offer position will be converted into the underlying position at the subscription price going short.

Positions with Guaranteed Stops (only possible on leverage accounts😞

  • Positions with Guaranteed Stops will be closed based on the close of business price on the business day preceding the Ex-date. A new position will be opened at an adjusted level, stop and size to reflect the above terms to take up the Offer automatically. The monetary risk of the trade will remain the same.

    • Hi @greenscorpio1000 Thanks for reaching out.  You can use the platform to check how much the daily charge would be. You can add the Swap bid (Rate used to calculate your overnight funding) on the platform by searching Cocoa- London >> Right click on it and add to Watchlist >> Add the Watchlist to your Workspace.  Once this is done, click on the three lines next to 'Market' on the top left and add Swap bid/Swap offer to view the expected daily rate. You simply take this rate and multiply it by your size to estimate the daily interest payment on your account.  Overnight Funding = Bet Size x Rate  Negative number is a charge Positive Number is a credit Using an example with the figures shown in the above screenshot, if you are short London Cocoa with  bet size GBP2, your overnight funding will be GBP2 x -2.36 = -GBP 4.72 charge We have an example on How we calculate Overnight Funding for Commodities on our website. This will give you a clear indication if this will be a credit or a debit in your account.  All the best, OfentseIG
    • We are moving into ‘nonfarm payrolls Friday’ and the potential for volatility is significant after a broad mix of preceding employment statistics. While the employment report can certainly spur the markets like the S&P 500 and Dollar to action, traders should keep tabs on growing warnings from the IMF and Fed officials.   Full article on DailyFX
