  1. It really depends on the time of day that you call. During trading hours in Australia, we seem to get bumped to a local team and the response is still slow, but reasonable quality.  Outside of those hours, I think we hit international call teams and the quality is questionable.

Agree that email response quality is terrible. And if you're getting a response in a week, I think you're one of the lucky ones!!

  2. To follow up on this, I received a third payment today. So, one quarterly distribution was split into three payments over two days at three different exchange rates.

I also noticed another dividend payment in my history from last week, again oddly taxed at about 31%.

Does anyone know how you can see details on what dividend amount IG receive, what tax was withheld, and what the payout was? It makes it virtually impossible for me to report foreign income and tax withheld when I have to try and reverse engineer and guess what has happened.

  3. I have Brookfield Renewable Partners (BEP) stocks. I received the first quarterly distribution payment yesterday. It was supposed to be USD $0.5425/share. What I received from IG was the distribution split into two payments (one for about USD$0.14/share and one amount for around $USD 0.02/share). So, in the end, I only received 51% of the actually distribution.

I'm in Australia, and to my knowledge, US stocks have a holding tax of 15%. So, why is the payment split into two, and why on earth have I only received half?

BEP is a Master Limited Partnership, and I know MLPs have some different tax rules. Could this be it, or is this an error from IG?

BTW, I've emailed and currently have two mobile phones on hold with IG. Haven't been able to get through all day, and no response to my email.

  4. You would have read about the new bill that just passed through the US Senate aimed at providing more reporting rigour for foreign companies listing on the US exchanges. Many are reporting that, if the bill passes the House, then it could result in many Chinese companies delisting and shifting to either the London or Hong Kong exchange (if they aren't there already).

My question: if you own shares in, say, Alibaba on the NYSE, and the Alibaba delists and shifts to the LSE, what happens to those shares you own on the NYSE? Do you lose them? Do they transfer? Cash out?

  5. I called the helpdesk today. The guy on the other end of the phone said the last four calls he'd had were for the same thing, but, given it was Sunday morning, there wasn't anyone around to look after it. He did confirm that all positions are showing in their system, and he seemed to be able to quickly identify which I couldn't see on my screen. So, they're aware of something wrong. I think the thing I don't like the most, besides the error, is just the lack of communication. Why not a tweet, an email, a message that says 'hey, we're aware something's wrong and we're working to fix it'? How hard is that. Pretty standard practice for any web-based business.

Mine are randomly appearing. Should be 29 in total. Shows 24 on the mobile app and when I login through the desktop, I have 22. Sometimes if I hit refresh, it'll go to 27, then I refresh again, and back to 22. Same positions disappearing each time. What's going on?

@CharlotteIG Is this something you can assist the community with? I notice others in different forum posts are complaining about the same thing.

  7. Same thing happened to me a few others that I know of after their scheduled system maintenance. I'm hoping they fix it soon. My is sporadic. Different number in the mobile app versus the desktop platform, and different again if it refresh the desktop platform.

  8. Hi all,

New to IG and hoping someone can help. I'm missing dividend payments for STORE Capital Corporation. They were due to be paid on 15 April 2020. The ex-dividend date was 30 March 2020. I held positions in STORE Capital Corporation prior to the ex-dividend date, yet have not received dividend payments.

My understanding is it usually takes only a few days for a dividend payment to come through IG. Can anyone shed some light on this or how to action through IG?

    Thanks!
