Filling in your deal ticket

Filling in your deal ticket

If you want to trade now you can select the ‘Deal’ tab, fill in your size, and select one of the following:

  • Current price or better: This default trade option will open your position at the current price or better if the market moves in your favour.
  • Points through current: This gives you more control of your execution by allowing you to trade through the current price, up to certain tolerance as defined in your deal ticket. This is useful in reducing order rejection in a volatile or illiquid market, or if you trade in larger size.
  • Market order:  If you want to increase the likelihood of being filled, irrespective of price, you can select Market Order.

To increase the chance of successful execution, the IG deal ticket will default to accept partial fills. If you use this feature, IG will only partially fill a trade as an alternative to outright rejection, and you will never be partially filled if an entire fill is possible.

We also offer a range of stops and limits so you can exit your open position at specific price levels. These include trailing stops which will follow your trade if the market moves in your favour, and guaranteed stops that will always be filled at the exact level you select (even if the market gaps over the level you selected). Regular stops are available too.

If you want to trade when the market gets to a certain level, use the order tab:

A stop order, once triggered, will be filled at the prevailing market price, however this could be a less favorable level than you selected.

A limit order will give you control over your entry point, but your entry level must be placed at a more favorable level than the current market. Once triggered your entry level will always be the price you selected or better.

Hi - if you are on a CFD or spread betting account you can use the advanced dealing options to get partial fills on MM and SETSqx stock. If you are dealing on a regular share dealing account or equivalent then these options wouldn't be available as you can only deal in your full size via the 'RSP' or 'Get Quote' functionality.

I hope this clarifies things for you.

Thanks for you reply James.

I just heard the latest news from IG dealing desk that IG no longer support partial fills feature on MM stock on spread betting and CFD. It did work on my spread betting and CFD accounts before but failed last two days.

It is business decision that was I was told. If it is so it is realy a bad news for investers/traders....Not sure if it is temporary change or pemanent.

Regards,

Kev

Thanks for your reply - I believe there may have been some confusion on the specifics of this query. To clarify,

CFD and Spread Betting: Partial fills are possible on SETSqx stock.

Share dealingPartial fills are not possible on SETSqx stock and this isn't available on the deal ticket.

There are other reason an order maybe rejected, however this would require a more in depth discussion on a case by case basis. As an example if there is a large market movement or volatility and you are requesting partial fills, but the price has already moved, you're still going to be rejected. It would be best to call in this instance.

In this instance it's better to use different deal conditions (such as market order or points through current).

Hi,

From what I am understanding is:

Partial fills are possible on SETSqx stock

Partial fills are impossible on SEAQ stock

Seems dealing desk's words were right.

For me partial fills worked on the same stock in the same situation before (both SETSqx and SEAQ stock )but not working today.

I have to say Byebye to this feature.

The reason you wouldn't be able to get partial fills on a SEAQ stock is because these generally won't be available on the leverage platform. This is due to a small market cap omitting them from dealing on leverage, rather than the specific stock deal type.

If there is a specific stock you'd like to discuss please call our dealing deal or use the new web trading platform to double check eligibility.

. What is the "44"?  Is the price GBP 4,435.86 to sell?

. What is "size" units?  Is that the total amount of money you want to spend or the number of stocks?

. What does "per point minimum" mean?

Hi, it sounds like you are on the SB or CFD platform in which case you are trading the difference in price movement rather than actually buying stocks so the price configuration is shifted so that the first number to the left of the decimal point is 1 IG Point.

so if you buy at 4435.86 and then sell at 4439.86 and your trade size is £1 per point you will have made 4 points = £4 pounds.

Big shots like Animoca and Binance are all in. When the cool kids invest, you know it's gonna be lit! 🔥 This ain't your grandma's play-to-earn game: Wat Racer - imagine Mario Kart, but with birds and crypto. Wild, right? Pimp your ride with WatPoints, race your friends, feel like a boss They're building a whole bird world. Angry Birds who? Here's why I'm pumped: It's gonna be THE spot for all the cool TON projects It's got that memecoin vibe, but with actual stuff to do! The exchange is letting us snag some $WAT before the masses. But hey, don't go selling your kidney or anything. Crypto's a rollercoaster - fun as hell, but keep your hands and feet inside the ride at all times! So, who's ready to add some birds to their portfolio? Drop your wildest $WAT predictions below! Let's get this bird party started.
    • Hey fellow crypto enthusiasts! Just wanted to share my thoughts on the exchange recent performance. Gotta say, I'm pretty impressed. Despite the market being a bit shaky, this platform have been killing it. They pulled in 1.72 million new users last month! That's no small feat. What caught my eye: 1. Apple Pay and Google Pay integration. Super convenient for converting fiat to crypto. I've used it a few times already - smooth as butter. 2. Their trading volumes are insane. $400 million daily in spot markets? $7 billion in futures? That's some serious liquidity. 3. The protection fund sitting at $400 million is reassuring. Always good to know there's a safety net. 4. Copy trading seems to be blowing up. 185,000 pro traders to follow? Sign me up! 5. They got that ISO 27001:2022 cert too. Might sound boring, but it's actually a big deal for security. Oh, and they've got this new legal chief, Hon Ng, working on expanding to new markets. Curious to see where that leads. It feels like the exchange is making smart moves. They're growing fast but still focusing on security and user experience. What do you all think? Anyone else been using Bitget lately?
