PRT charts after dividend adjustments

Guest Applet

Question

Guest Applet

PRT offers on their version of platform the functionality to adjust the equity/stock charts for dividends. Why can't IG's version of PRT offer the same? I am using IG CFD PRT charts with real time data on US stocks.

Thank you for bringing this up Applet

This is just another one of IG's offering of PRT chart inadequacies.

Not being able to adjust for dividends distorts support and resistance levels. As this has a cumulative affect the distortions are magnified over time. This will affect the vast majority that uses technical analysis in their trading, most use support and resistance, don't they?  So if you wondering why your stops got hit or your take profit order did n't then take a look at an adjusted chart and you may find the answer why!

I rest my case m'lud.

Hi

Unfortunately not all of the ProRealTime features are available on the IG version, some would not be possible to add either ,because on the premium version you would receive  data that is not provided by IG as opposed to the IG ProRealTime where you are doing analysis on IG data. I am not sure where ProRealTime gets the data from or how it would be applied to the charts but unfortunately this is not something we can offer at the moment.

On the IG charts we offer Economic calendar that will display when there was a dividend payout on what the amounts were, maybe you could find that data useful.

Thanks

Anton

    • Does anyone else know any other SB providers that you can use to trade through TV?  I've only so far seen CFD providers which doesn't work for me due to tax reasons (mainly the hassle of having to account for it as well as the obvious cost).
    • Is there any update on when/if there will be any integration with Tradingview???
    • The anonymity of cryptocurrency transactions can vary depending on the specific cryptocurrency you use and the methods you use. While some cryptocurrencies provide a degree of privacy and anonymity, it is important to note that achieving complete anonymity can be difficult. Most cryptocurrencies operate on a pseudonymous basis. Transactions are recorded in a public ledger, called a blockchain, using cryptographic addresses instead of personal information. However, these addresses are usually not directly linked to a real identity, unless someone voluntarily discloses this information. Some cryptocurrencies, such as Monero (XMR) and Zcash (ZEC), are specifically designed to increase privacy and anonymity. I read on https://deeplab.com/darkweb/anonymous-sudan-launches-cyberattacks-on-middle-eastern-news-outlets-expands-target-list-with-four-additional-names that some people use this anonymity as a cyber attack.
