Question

Hi quick question about holding long and short positions on the ftse 100 at the same time:

I had a short position which was offside (although one that I wanted to keep) and decided to buy a long position to mitigate the overall view.

When I executed the buy my short positions were automatically closed, later in the day with the market swings I could have got out of the short position at parity so it was fustrating..

What did I do wrong in executing the buy trade?

Any help welcome thanks

Hi, for hedging mode (2 trades running in the opposite direction) you need to switch on 'Force Open' on the deal/order ticket and not Net Off.
