may I ask if anyone knows where is a good place where there is a forum on Excel Based Trading?

when did Excel Based Trading really start? + this would include using Excel DDE, Excel RTD, etc would it be envisaged that Excel Based Trading will get more popular from now on? as is understood, there are broker platforms which allow one to extract eg OHLP Prices directly into Excel, instead of have to configure an Excel DDE spreadsheet, or Excel RTD spreadsheet + any comments on this?

I spent 4 days at least trying to figure out why the ExcelRTD ExpertAdvisor ("IG-MT4-Apps" exe file) which I had downloaded (from this page: https://www.ig.com/uk/trading-platforms/metatrader-4/mt4-indicators) could not work, and this included contacting the developer, and eventually, I figured out that relevant fxblueexcelrtd.dll file somehow could not be detected + below is relevant updated exe file ("IG-update-setup") which you can use to overcome this problem - ie I have reinstalled this exe (no need to uninstall, just doubleclick on this exe), and the ExcelRTD worked subsequently - you can contact FXBlueLabs technical support to request for this file

may I ask, what is the "progID" which we need to use if we are to use a RTD Function to extract data from IGMarkets data servers? I have seen the following RTD Function being used in LightStreamers "Basic Stock List Demo Microsoft (Excel, RTD) Client" + =RTD("lightstreamer.rtdexceldemo",,"item30","bid") - (ie https://demos.lightstreamer.com/?p=lightstreamer&t=client&sclientmicrosoft=excel) this "lightstreamer.rtdexceldemo" looks like it is meant for demo purposes only + or is it not? ie this "progID" can be used for long-term? + is there another "progID" which can be used for long-term?

hi everyone I have downloaded the IG API (per "api-sample-excel-1.0.7-64bit.zip") and managed to install and got to the create relevant "IG API Excel Sample" (per "ig-api-sample.xlsm") after installation + I have also played around with it and managed to download historical OHLC data I am hoping to be able to download live data using RTD Functions, but I have not been able to do so + I have learnt, I believe, that IGMarkets has partnered with LightStreamer.com, and the following are relevant live samples I have managed to install the above "Basic Stock - List Demo Microsoft (Excel, RTD) Client" + but the sample Excel did not seem to be able to import Live Data from the IGMarkets data servers Essentially, my objective is to be able to have an Excel file (let us call this "MyExcelRTD Spreadsheet") to download the following data: + historical OHLC Prices up to the last 500 minutes + live OHLC Prices per the current minute - I am planning to build this "MyExcelRTD Spreadsheet" using the "IG API Excel Sample" (is this possible?) may I ask if a fellow forum member can help with guiding as to how I can achieve the preceding objective?
