  1. IG, please advise your customers when you plan to change functionality of your trading platform.

The removal of the ability to place Buy Stops is rather frustrating and some notification regarding this would have gone a long way.

This was for ASX share trading -

"That is correct, in light of some technical issues faced in combination with the product unpopularity, the dealing desk have made the business decision to remove the stop day order feature for technical investigation and general overview.

At this point in time, we are not expecting its return and apologise for any inconvenience."

Above is the response via email from IG support.

I'm having an issue where the current candle for the day is not displayed.  This takes a few attempts to open and close the window, or log out and back in for it to display correctly.  This is using both Chrome and MS Edge.

Same issue keeps happening, I wish I could video this.  Here's a snip of the issue, The current trading day doesn't show and the cursor jumps to the next day.    Its takes multiple chart reloads and log offs before the issue is resolved.

  3. If you're currently holding / traded less than 10 stocks you could sign up for a free Sharesight account and manually import your statements.  Otherwise you pay for extra for larger trading activity and additional services.  Sharesight is great and makes tax time very easy.  You can have IG forward your trading statements for automatic tracking, then at the EOFY you simply select which reports you would like to generate.  Depending on your situation you may be able to claim the cost of the service on tax.

If you do go down this path you need to email IG and have them add an additional email address that directs your statements to the Sharesight server.

    Manual trade history -

Trade history can also be downloaded from your IG dashboard, hit the three dots on the far right of you accounts, for ASX trading (Not CFD's) Select history - Show trade history - select the date range - Download as excel format.

  4. I have setup IG and Commsec to send Sharesight my trade confirmations, makes tax time a breeze.

    Worth checking out.

I cannot seem to find a summary report for a tax/financial year. I'm assuming this exists (it must!) - can som eone please explain how I could obtain such a report of P&L, dividends, interest etc for 2018/2019 Australian tax year.

    Many thanks!

  5. Are you trading ASX shares?  If so head to the dashboard and select history, show trade history and select a date range.  You can then download the excel file.  I have also setup IG so you can have your trade confirmations sent directly to sharesight for portfolio / tax tracking.  (If you use sharesight) You need to contact IG via email and arrange the email address for tracking.image.thumb.png.f7d0afd859f90b9b887936c1119944f2.png

How did you sign up/ enable the live market data? I am looking for it too. Coming from Interactive Broker - this is the only thing i need.

PS: I find that the total of each side is not as useful as having the cumulative sums at each point.

In the dashboard area, select Settings and Data Feeds.  What would be nice is if a separate payment option available for these feeds, i.e direct from card or paypal.  image.thumb.png.5495b087d6e2a9fa83b947b14b607a16.png

I believe you are referring to the old platform, if so yes i noticed it's there but % option is not available in new platform.

That snip is from the new platform, I've never used the old as I only joined with IG a few weeks ago.  Didn't even know about the old one.

I've added another pic for your reference.

Is it possible to add more data points in 'positions' tab like %?

If one has multiple position opens , it can be quite confusing to understand P&L position by just looking at $ value specially if market is changing so much.

So if user can have % P&L next to Profit & Loss column it will help them understand the true gainers and drainers.

    Regards,

    VK

I was thinking the same the other day and only just realized if you click on the hamburger symbol you can add additional details to the Positions page, this also works for other tabs.

  9. Yesterday while in a trading session I noticed that if I hit the sell box in the posistions window (share trading platform) the deal tab would populate as a sell order but would not allow me to select market sell orders.  The only options available are limit and stop orders.

If I have a blank deal tab and then select - order type - market order.  Then select sell, the ticket is correctly filled and I can then place my market sell order.

Is this a bug with the new platform?

  10. Previously I was keeping all trading activity for Australian Tax, (Capital gains, divs and losses) I now use Sharesight as it tracks my trading and generates the correct reports come tax time. (the price of the service is also tax deductable, there is free access if you have less than 10 holdings)  If you do find Sharesight useful, you can send IG an email and have them attach the email address so that trade notifications will be send directly to sharesight and they can auto log your trades.  If it all sounds too confusing then book into a finacial advisor.
