Long term option calls

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if IG is offering long term options on CFD accounts. I understand that I need to call up IG as only see Tesla and Netflix calls but they're all short term.

For example Jan 2023 calls for Enphase or Nio. Any information on pricing?

To my knowledge, there are only long term options for a few instruments such as the S&P 500 index and other liquid indexes.

BTW, how do you managed to have access to share options? Under my options account, I can only trade indexes, commodities and forex vanilla options, but no way to trade share vanilla options...

Hi, IG do share options by phone.

Wow, good to know, thanks! Do you know which exchanges are covered?

Hopefully someone who uses the phone in share options service will add to this, there is more detail in the IG web pages and seem to remember there were 2 pricing levels, one for the option but there was also another higher charge where they would walk you through the procedure of placing an option trade through the dealing desk.

You find some of them in the old UK platform (if you have access to the old puredeal?) but mostly short term options (jan 2022 longest?)

If you call them, ask when they are planning to add them to the options platform

They told me 1 or 2 months ago that they are planning to add them to the option platform but that they couldn't say when. I hope they'll have more information for us!

Just called them, and here is the information I could get:

  • For long-term options: better to call the desk directly as it would depend on which stock you are looking to trade.
  • Trading is possible for US and EU stocks, and stocks listed on smaller exchanges could eventually be traded but again, one should ask the desk.
  • Fees are the same than the online fees for stocks. (min 5€ for EU stocks, min 15€ for US stocks)
  • They are not planning to add stock options to the platform as there is very little demand for this product. That's strange because they already told me the opposite.

I am from France and I called the french client support, so please note that things could be different depending on where you are located.

    • Does anyone else know any other SB providers that you can use to trade through TV?  I've only so far seen CFD providers which doesn't work for me due to tax reasons (mainly the hassle of having to account for it as well as the obvious cost).
    • Is there any update on when/if there will be any integration with Tradingview???
    • The anonymity of cryptocurrency transactions can vary depending on the specific cryptocurrency you use and the methods you use. While some cryptocurrencies provide a degree of privacy and anonymity, it is important to note that achieving complete anonymity can be difficult. Most cryptocurrencies operate on a pseudonymous basis. Transactions are recorded in a public ledger, called a blockchain, using cryptographic addresses instead of personal information. However, these addresses are usually not directly linked to a real identity, unless someone voluntarily discloses this information. Some cryptocurrencies, such as Monero (XMR) and Zcash (ZEC), are specifically designed to increase privacy and anonymity. I read on https://deeplab.com/darkweb/anonymous-sudan-launches-cyberattacks-on-middle-eastern-news-outlets-expands-target-list-with-four-additional-names that some people use this anonymity as a cyber attack.
