New share dealing platform

Is there likely to be an update to the share dealing platform to bring it in line with the the spread betting and CFD platform, I worry that IG don't value their share dealing arm of the business as much as the CFD and spread bet which is a shame as their share dealing is top-drawer.

I somewhat agree. I would like to see better coordination amongst all the accounts so that I can switch easily between them. At the moment I have to use subterfuge and multiple logins to monitor spread betting, ISA and share platforms visible simultaneously and the differences in the platforms adds to the confusion.

We're hoping to roll the new share dealing account out beginning of February. This will have a similar layout to the new Spread betting and CFD accounts you see today. :)

With call and put options? :)

We're not offering calls and puts on non-leveraged accounts. When you buy calls/ puts they have limited risk on the leveraged platforms.

Yes, call options are a great idea for that reason.

Would love to see call options available for everything on the leveraged platform :)

The downside to you is less money on commissions, right?  As people aren't getting stopped out by those stupid spikes.

With all market, except CFD equity options, we still take spread so we would happily have clients trade options With CFD equity options we charge commission.

The reason we don't offer it for every market is there's not as much demand and we have to buy/ sell these in the underlying every time someone trades. Meaning, if it's something that hardly anyone is buying we would have to go out a buy/ sell very small positions.

The new share dealing platform is now live. Let me know what you think.

Hi Charlotte,

The new Share dealing account looks outstanding, but missing a vital risk management tool that the CFD and Spreadbetting accounts have, Stop Losses.

Please could you feedback to the Development team of the Share desk and kindly ask if possible to add this important feature to this account? Has this already been raised from other traders hence already in the pipeline to roll it out pretty soon?

Many thanks,

Denis

    • With Bitcoin aiming for a new ATH, this staking might be the best option to maximum holding
    • Tbh, trading can be frustrating, I keep trying different strategy to perfect my trading skill but all seems to be in vain. Recently, I learnt we can use AI to predict the market to trade, so I decide to start asking AI to analyze when btc is overbought so I can look for short entry but this seems not to work against as most trade I enter end up hitting my SL. I know this is part of the learning process so I don’t risk too much but it hurt to lose fund especially when you are trying your best to make your first positive trade. Sometime, I just feel the market is totally against me and that further discourages me from futures trading. Recently, I got introduced to BTC staking on some platforms like BGBTC on bitget, Babylon chain, Solv protocol, Coredao etc but that doesn’t quench my hunger to understand BTC volatility since I will just stake my btc and earn apr. I want to understand how this volatility works so I can start making something from futures trading rather than just staking to earn apr. Also, I feel staking is for spot traders that intend to hold for a longer period and that doesn’t expose you to the market. I am not like most trader that prioritize profit over knowledge even when that is the final goal.
