  1. @BjornTrading PRT is a good tool, it has a very simple scripting language for trade automation, but I still prefer TV. I've moved away most of my funds to IBKR for lots of reasons and they have TV integration.

I really like IG and wish to continue using them for investing, but the new fee structure makes it impossible to remain with them.

IG web trading charts are good enough even though they have not fixed the volume issue when viewing stocks. I reported the issue months ago, dev team acknowledged that the bug is confirmed but no fix yet. The volume issue affects your VWAP as well, to fix it you need to close and reopen the chart.

But TV overall is a superior platform and it just works.

IG you promised integration in Q1, but still nothing?

  2. I've noticed today that VWAP in not updating while you have your chart open, I opened my NVDA chart at 13:00 and kept it open until about 15:00 and realised that VWAP has not changed at all. Closed the chart window and opened a new one, this time VWAP is correct, but the issue persist, its value will not update until I reopen the chart.

Please sort out this issue ASAP.

Left screenshot shows VWAP that did not update, purple line is straight for few minutes.

Right screenshot shows VWAP after I reopened the  chart, and VWAP, the purple line is pointing downwards instead of being straight line.

Tradingview offers more reliable charting platform and a fairly decent screener (Ability to create your own screens using Pinescript would be great).  One thing that the IG platform lacks is the ease in which you can create alerts.

TV you can simply draw a line and have an alert trigger when price crosses.  -> Draw a line, right click, add alert.  or click the small plus symbol near the price scale, add alert.   Or select MA, add alert for cross.

TV also offers a very flexible system in which users can customise appearance, custom indicators etc etc.

TV watch lists that are easy to scroll through, I screen hundreds of stocks in my watch lists each night on TV, In a second if the chart doesn't grab my attention its usually not worth trading,  I'm unaware if this quick scrolling acting is something IG currently offers.

As soon as TV offers the ability to connect and ASX broker I will certainly consider options and make the switch.

@Quacker have you tried ProRealTime? I to was heavy user of TV but have switched to ProRealTime.

Thanks to @Kodiak help I managed to combine RSI and MFI.

Could not figure out how to enable horizontal lines to be added on my new indicator though. Instead I'm drawing lines programatically.

    image.png.5c79e1240fb110b2343fbdee56d44c22.png

But this is not ideal as I would like to specify colour zones on the indicator, but adding lines programatically doesn't give me that option on the indicator configuration.

Anyone has an idea hot to add horizontal lines on the indicator configuration.

    Hello IG Community,

What features in TradingView do you like and want to be able to use?

Please kindly share your valuable & useful feedback. I will forward this to our development team.

    All the best - MongiIG

This is brilliant, I personally would prefer that IG improves web platform rather than hook up with TV. But that is one voice in the ocean.

Current IG web platform is great, it is very flexible and very simple, perfect canvas to make it even better.

List of desirable items that I would like to see in IG platform:

    - TV has amazing view on stock fundamentals/financials, having something similar or even better in IG platform would be very desirable. I know that IG has a detailed financials as well, but having some visual representation of that data would be very desirable. I've already requested Stock Performance details to be added on Market Data page.

    - Allow adding of stock, indexes, FX or any other instruments that are not allowed to be traded from my account on my watchlist. It is a bit annoying that the IG platform removes instruments that I cannot trade from my watchlist. I might need them in my watchlist as general market indicators and by IG removing them, you are forcing me to use other platforms such as TV to keep track of the overall market. I know I can have a quick glance at them from different menus on the left, but why not have them in one place which is my watchlist.

    That is it for now.

Earnings date would  be helpful too

    Hi Will,

The screenshot I've used to add the stock performance has event calendar on the left.

    image.png.06120b0b05aa37df41bfc072d3f4627d.png

You can get to market data page from your IG platform, just right click on any stock on you watchlist or positions and choose Market Data.

But I realised that you do not have the Market Data option on stocks that are not on your watchlist, this is something that IG hopefully fixes in the near future @ArvinIG @MongiIG.

  9. In my demo account I cannot see any update since last night at 22:01:01. I can see market data in PRT.

    image.thumb.png.67567d840783fba7227ff076be08c57f.png

I cannot trade (Buy/Sell or close positions) on IG web platform, PRT or mobile.

I tried to close order in PRT but my order is being rejected!!!

Luckily this is demo account, if this happened to live account what would I do.

It also says "Phone IG to trade".

Please help out, what is going on?

Interestingly enough I've been doing some digging (I'm also a software man! @Burim) and with the stocks that have problems they exist for any periodicity down to 1 min. If I select 10 secs or less it's okay (although, of course, you can only see a relatively short period of history) unless I select tick and then it just seems to hang. So at least I can select 10 secs and get some idea of current movements. Any periodicity above that doesn't work.

And you're correct; as I'm evaluating I am, indeed, using the demo platform. But it's not much of a demo if it doesn't work.

I can confirm that charts work on 10 second timeline. but no other timeline is working.

I'm using ProRealTime to do paper trading with IG now, evaluating it in that way.

    image.thumb.png.c2b492e17e2c1ddb0bc6a78b6aec217b.png

No chart issues there, but I'm having issues setting spread bet size of 0.6. In ProRealTime I cannot figure out how to do that. So I need to open a position in IG web platform and then switch to PRT.

PRT looks so old and outdated but the chart in it self is pretty **** good thing. I've folen in love with it. It has some pretty good features (I use TradeView as well).

But overall not that happy with IG, still not out but not going to go live either. Not until I gain some confidence in IG support and see some client care.

I have a similar problem with no data showing between Friday and the current time. I have twice sent emails with attached screen shots to the helpdesk and all I've had in response is an automated acknowledgement. I joined IG to evaluate it for trading. This has failed my evaluation and I'm out. How am I supposed to risk my money with this level instability and support. Sorry!

It looks like it is an issue with demo accounts, as I'm also evaluating IG before I invest.

ArvinIG, is this something you can try, see if charts are working on your demo account. I'm a software developer myself so would not approach you if I couldn't resolve this issue myself. Charts are working fine in ProRealTime but not on IG web platform iOS app or Android app.

Now you have a second user confirming the same issue. Therefore in interest of IG it would be preferable that you raise this issue with technical team and resolve it for us. I see no need to chase for resolution if you as a company are not interested to do so.

So far happy with the platform but this issue is a deal killer.
