I have extensive experience working with the IG Index API. Infact I love doing it. Checkout my various projects on Github
https://github.com/tg12/FAIG - Flagship project, But there are alot of other little scripts on there for other purposes. I run my short stocks on almost exclusively.
and also
The documentation and support is top notch.
What kind of thing do you want to do?

Honestly, If you are trading on any Trump tweets you are doing something seriously wrong.

Excellent! It was actually from October 1987, not 1989 as I incorrectly thought. Seems that he thinks there will be a rather large drop on Boeing's price.

No music, All my trading is automated these days on a server in the cloud. Or at least 99% of it is. I do like to have a bit of excitement now and again.

Lined up perfectly for a rally!
It literally needs a bit of a nudge from some bad news, So we are on track for 1580 this week at least.

I have a tip but it's a closely guarded secret. A few people have got wind of it though so the secret is slowly leaking out....

Just posted this over on another thread.
WITHIN THE LAST SEVERAL DAYS...
HSBC... Deutsche and some other BIG banks just loaned the PBOC 450 BILLION to help them prevent their currency from total collapse..
The backstory.. The CEO of HSBC has just been fired for it..
It was said China has 3 trillion in US reserves but now it is being revealed..
1 trillion was earmarked for the belt and road initiative and the other trillions have been tied up in swaps and derivatives as the currency has already dropped 30% to 7.5.
It is estimated the currency will eventually devalue another 40%.
... Long gold 😉

@TheGuru12 If you have a decent strategy based on the daily chart for spread betting. Do you think you can obtain a decent strategy based on say a weekly or monthly chart that you can use to physically buy shares based on chart TA alone?
Perhaps, Depends on your own trading style.

@nit2wynit I say graphs but I call them charts as well just to confuse me. I only asked as I have seen your posts on spread betting and wondered if you used the same principles as betting as you do when you physically buy shares.
No one should. Shares are longer term. Spreadbetting is more speculating shorter term.

Hi @nit2wynit May I ask if you use your IG graphs and indicators before physically purchasing shares?
Actually purchasing shares there are far better sources like the company's RNS announcements of just looking at the books. Stockopedia is phenomenal in this area.

It's only a matter of time before this fad is over and done with.

All. I just made my very first trade... sell gbp usd as I think the dollar will strengthen . Question - do I need to cover the trade ? Can I cash out any time today ? Or just accept what I have at COB ?
As the markets opened they saw 1.1991 so I suspect that is the target for today! 😉

Hi, I am a new trader. Hope to learn from so many smart people here. I have traded shares before but I have to admit the wide range of CFD products in IG.com is really huge and overwhelming. Please can you teach me how to become rich and successful like you?
