MT4 Live vs Demo Margins

Good day all

I have a question on the MT4 margins between Demo and Live accounts.

I have been doing trades on the IG MT4 Demo and found a big difference between the Demo and Live margins when I tried to move over to Live.

 

NAS100 on Demo requires $610 for Volume = 1 . The same trade in Live requires $62,500.

 

Is this normal? It doesn't make it easy to test trading methods...

Hi, not sure why but there is a lot size change between demo and live. If you look at the min lot size for live it's 0.1 (10 pence per point) but on demo it's 0.01 (though still 10 pence per point)

Been a while since i used mt4 for trading but as i remember there was a difference between SB (DFB) and CFD regarding lot size
