If you look in "Other" it is not available with leverage.

We will confirm with the shares desk and get back to you on this one. We are kindly asking for your patience.

Closing CFD trades, if you are closing a position of 1000 cfd,s in multiples of 100 cfd's per trade within an hour. Is it correct to have been charged £15 per 100 cfd's sold. IE 10 x £15 (£150) Had I sold the full 1000 in one trade would have cost £15. Doesn't seem correct to me.

    Hi @GB49

Hi there, your query remains unclear. Can you please provide us with more information and context so we can help you resolve it?

    Thank you so much,

As I was holding AMC stocks, I was issued same number of APE stocks in my IG.com account.

When the stocks were added to my account, they were initially added with $0.0 price.

Does anyone know what is the cost basis of the APE stock and does it affect my cost basis on AMC stock ?

If I sell my APE or AMC shares I need to know How do I calculate my capital gains and losses. Since I am not clear on the Cost basis.

    Hi @ABSHK

    Thanks for reaching out.

The APE line was a 1 to 1 distribution offered to AMC holders. Since you as the client did not purchase this holding, the price per share will be at zero. If you decide to sell your holding, you would be gaining the difference in the closing price minus the buying price of zero as your profit. Assuming you sell at 1.82 as showin on the platform, your profit will be calculated as (1.82 - 0)* number of shares = Profit

Sir what is the difference between  igAccount/ mt4 account which is the segregated account

    Hi @Binojisadasivan

These are two different platforms. The IG platform is our normal platform and MT4 has it's own platform with it's own log in details. We offer our clients the choice to trade IG products on the MT4 platform and use all the features available from their platform.

You can read more about MT4 from the link https://www.ig.com/uk/trading-platforms/metatrader-4

    Hello!

I have a position on US500 (futures) and I would like to keep it open if possible. However, it says that the contract ends on the 17th of March. What happens to that position beyond that date if not closed by me? Does it roll automatically into the next date or does it close and I have to manually open the next future date?

    Thank you !!!

    B

    Hi @B_S857

    Thank you for reaching out.

You can choose to enable automatic rollovers to be opened automatically at expiry.

How to set up the instructions?
You can set up automatic rollover instructions by logging in to your My IG dashboard
Go to the ‘settings’ tab, select ‘rollovers’ and then follow the instructions
Once rollovers have been set up on your account, you’ll receive a confirmation email
    Automatic rollover.

    Hello!

So I think i have figured out how to see the EMA, when i click the MOTHER indicator i can see different EMAs, Why is called something different?

I'm using a demo account for the time being, is the available leverage different on a demo account?

So I can see in your photo it says contract size per point is 10,000 GBP, what does that mean exactly?

    Thanks.

    Hi @Gavmister

This is how it comes up on the Live account and all platforms then you would have the option to select EMA 20 50 100. For your second question, if you are trading GBP/USD for example, then you are trading Exposure of 100,000 of first currency (GBP), denominated in second currency (USD)
Value of 1 point = $10 which is the second name currency. This is for standard contracts. Same rule applies for mini contracts. image.png

    Hi guys.

I'm a beginner trader so forgive me if these are stupid questions.

Firstly, I have learnt that when trading currencies you trade with lots (micro lots, nano lots etc) with leverage but when I go on IG it just gives me the option to trade with the currency units i.e one pound or one dollar, Is this just how it is on IG or is there a way to change this, and how do I trade with leverage?

Secondly for some reason I don´t have the exponential moving average as an indicator, I even can see the indicator is available when I watch a youtube video that teaches you how to use IG but when I open my own chart and look at the indicators it´s not there, how can I access this indicator?

    Thanks

    Hi @Gavmister

    Thank you for reaching out.

It depends on the type of account.  CFDs are traded in standardised contracts, sometimes called lots. The sizes of these contracts differ depending on the asset, often mimicking how that asset is traded in the underlying markets. You can find more information on the deal ticket under the Market Info tab.

    image.png

We do offer the exponential  moving average on the platform. What type of account are you trading on?

    Thanks, OfentseIG

For the past week, I have been unable to open my demo account. It appears to get stuck loading but doesn't appear to have the issue loading a live account. Does anyone know a fix for this? or Is this a known issue?

    Hi @NathanT and @BirteBU

Could you please confirm if the issue is still ongoing on your end? We had maintenance this past weekend which might have affected the platform.

Hi, I am keen to know if you have AI trading BOTS or trading with AI, or anything to do with AI in the platform?

I have been surprised that your platform is so simple, even stop loss, trailing stop loos, trainline gains, I cannot see it, unless someone explain to me why i cannot see aal of these goodies, and if they are there, i appreciate if someone show me the way.

    Hi @Megapharma2022

    Thank you for reaching out.

You can try all other 3rd party platforms we offer for automated trading like MT4 and PRT. https://www.ig.com/uk/trading-platforms

Hi - is it possible to get previous year’s information as my standard charts only go back on a 1 year rolling basis? This is using a 4 hour chart (on both a demo and live account). Thanks so much!!

    Hi @Browns1971

Here is he amount of days of data you have access. We do not provide anything outside of these.

    image.png

However, you can get more data if you use PRT Premium. Unfortunately, this means you will have to close your current account with IG then reapply using https://trading.prorealtime.com/en/ig if you prefer to use this option.

    Hi @soje22

    Thank you for reaching out.

Elmo Software Limited has announced a scheme of arrangement and you will receive AUD 4.85 for every share of Elmo Software Limited surrendered.  We will be booking this mandatory event into your account shortly. You can check if it's already booked. No action is required from your end for this event. Please note that you may receive automated email notifications regarding the opening of position.

    Scheme of arrangement example:

You are currently holding 100 shares in XXX Ltd and XXX Ltd has had a scheme of arrangement where you receive AUD 1 for every 10 shares of XXX Ltd held in your account.

You will receive AUD 10 as consideration.

We have a stock list available on the IG website to indicate which ETFs are ISA eligible or non-ISA eligible. Have a look at the Stocks List

    Hello,

Somebody knows if it is  possible to open a position automatically with pro-order, and than closing it manually??? obviously the trading system would be  written without any kind of target,  maybe an stoploss, but no target..

    thanks a lot!!

    Hi @PBor

Pro order does not allow you to create a trading system which does not include a close condition. You would have to include an exit strategy or else the system won't accept the strategy. At any time, you can manually close any of the Pro Order trades but that will be seen as a system error due to an external force impacting the trading system and will result in the system stopping. You can switch the system back on but it is something to remember because when a system stops it closes all trades opened by that system.

    Thanks,
