  1. Here comes Captain Sensible
  2. Well then the SNP will look after you if you voted for them
  3. So can you do 'traditional' short selling on IG or not?
  4. https://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-electricity-fossilfuel-decline/fossil-fuels-for-power-at-turning-point-as-renewables-surged-in-2019-data-idUKKBN20R0I6
  5. Isn't it just number of shares bought and sold? Futures and options make it more complicated.
  6. 'Paying all the money upfront' - lol actually you get money upfront, but you pay IG the commission etc. @CharlotteIG can we still do this 😘
  7. Not sure if you're in the UK. But the English voted for the Tories. So the rich will be very well taken care of. Everyone else will be left to fend for themselves and fight over scraps. The Tories are even going to screw over the self-employed (IR35), while they let Amazon, Google etc get away with paying no tax and destroying jobs. Since England is now 'sovereign' the people can't even get help from Europe.
  8. Yes it's different from what you see on Reuters or Bloomberg or Yahoo. It's 'correct' according to IG's metrics but not the same as the 'real' market.
  9. I'm in the market to buy this morning. Got stopped out several times last night (what a 'tard) so need to recoup a fair bit of profit
  10. It could very well be basing too, so it may be wise to perform an 'in and out' manouevre 😻
  11. I'm having a cheeky wee bet on FTSE 100 falling. I've very little faith in the British economy, whereas we know the mighty USA will bounce back eventually.
  12. It looks like it's establishing a bottom (basing), so I won't sell unless it falls beneath 24688.
  13. According to @CharlotteIG, new clients get a special introductory rate ...
  14. Could this be done by feeding in prices via IG's API into Excel and producing graphs from the resulting data (or into a database and producing graphs with some 3rd party software, this would be more complicated of course)?
  15. That's interesting. I asked the same question (can you short sell real stocks, paying all the money upfront), as it might be an attractive proposition for smaller companies that aren't available to short via CFD (or the spread is ridiculous). Zero interest, but it sure would be goshdarn cool if you could. (And I might)
  16. I recommend using it though, being protected by a password only is deficient by today's standards no matter how complex it is. The FCA has regulations on banks' use of MFA, but I think they should extend it to brokers and dealing platforms too.
  17. It is going to go back down. Wait till it breaks the 62% Fib level.
  18. Is S&P 500 going to bounce off the long term trending line and fall
  19. https://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-health-coronavirus-germany-stimulus/german-conservatives-quarrel-over-stimulus-package-to-counter-coronavirus-idUKKBN20Q23I?il=0 How that dour old woman has managed to hold on to power for so long amazes me ...
