Flash no longer supported.

Question

With the advent of the notifications in our browsers informing us that Flash is going to be discontinued in 2020, I'd like to know how far away IG are from moving away from the outdated technology, like they probably should have done sometime in 2009.

It's insecure, slow and generally a nuisance.

IG, how far away are we from not having to deal with this relic? Hopefully sometime before it's completely deleted.

yes, could do with some guidance on this, @JamesIG, or someone, as it is starting to cause issues. Chrome now defaults to blocking Flash. Which is annoying, and not everyone uses machines with admin permissions so unable to download alternative browsers.

Just tried Opera and Firefox but machine permissions restrict ability to install alternatives.

@Djelibaybi is this for CFD / Spreadbet? The new platform is not based on Flash in case you're still using the old one...

Hey all - we're looking to have the new share trading platform available very early on in the new year. Thanks for the interest, we'll make sure to update all clients leading into the event.

Will we have trailing stops on the new platform @JamesIG?

On a share dealing account? Unfortunately not. First stage will be to replicate current functionality in the new HTML5 format, and then look to improve on certain aspects such as this.
