AndaIG's post in Options Loss was marked as the answer
Hi @MrNSig
Thanks for the query.
Break even when buying a put = Strike Price - Option price
Therefore using the the 11520 strike as an example break even = 11520 - 30.4 = 11489.6
Therefore the market would need to settle at 11489.6 or below to make profit.
Settlement was at 11507:
Therefore P&L can be calculated as follows: (11489.6 - 11507) * 0.5 (bet size) = -8.7
Commission : 0.1GBP per contract or 0.1GBP per 1GBP per point position
Therefore commission payable = 0.5*0.1GBP = 0.05 GBP
True PnL= -8.75GBP
A more simple formula is as follows:
Profit/Loss = Bet Size x (Option closing price - Option opening price)

AndaIG's post in How to trade QQQ or EQQQ was marked as the answer
Hi @BNQ
Thanks for the query.
EQQQ trades in London so the market was closed at the time.
QLD or QQQ require a mifid score. You need to call the helpdesk and be taken through the appropriate questionnaire before you would be able to trade these.

AndaIG's post in Why cant I short any stock? It comes up with " you don not have any open positions" was marked as the answer
Hi @JFB3
Thanks for reaching out,
Please note that you are not able to sell what you do not own in Share Dealing/ ISA account. Therefore no short positions to open are available in that format. In the leverage environment that message would come up if there was no borrow available. i.e. we are not able to borrow the share from our broker, therefore we are not able to offer a short position.

AndaIG's post in New to this, not sure what things mean! was marked as the answer
Hi @RoyCB
Quantity of shares: The number of shares that you would like to buy. You can change this field to be value of money that you would like to spend on the shares.
Order type-Limit: This will trigger a purchase order when the share price of the stock reaches your specified buy price or a more favourable price
Order level: This where you specify what price you would like to buy the share at.
Hopefully that clarifies it for you.

AndaIG's post in My orders disappeared? was marked as the answer
Hi @veryrichbadger
Thanks for the query.
Your orders expired without your specified price being triggered. When using a limit order you are specifying to purchase at the specified price or a more favourable price. Therefore your order will be fully filled if the share trades at your specified price or lower in sufficient volume. To increase your chances of a fill you would need to specify a price closer to the offer price.

AndaIG's post in transfer out of etrade was marked as the answer
Hi @Cmcmillan
Thanks for the query.
To transfer the shares into an IG ISA they would need to be held with another broker in ISA. Otherwise we would need to transfer the shares into a share dealing account. Etrade require the transfer process to be initiated on their end.

The option to transfer funds between accounts online is only available to accounts that share the same username. If the accounts have different usernames you would need to write to helpdesk.uk@ig.com to request a manual transfer from our payments team.

AndaIG's post in Share Dealing Account closure and Dividends due to be received was marked as the answer
Hi @PapaRagi

We pay dividends to your trading account. Administratively it would be easier to wait until after the payment date, then withdraw your dividend, then instruct us to close the account.

AndaIG's post in Cant move stops was marked as the answer
Hi @Potterwasp
Thanks for the query,
When replicating your issue I found that a refresh of the browser seems to solve the problem. Have you tried doing the same? FYI the backend system shows all your stop amendments, so they would have executed if triggered. If a refresh does not solve the issue for you please try contact our IT team at 0800 409 6789 / +44 (0)20 7896 0079 or helpdesk.uk@ig.com.
