  1. I think though it can be programmed in it is all a bit problematic as a trailing stop is a limit order. Hi BMP, auto trailing stops can only move in one direction. https://www.ig.com/uk/glossary-trading-terms/trailing-stops-definition
  2. Hi @abhishekpatwani, It may not be possible in some counties due to local law but IG help staff have been caught out with so many suddenly wanting new accounts in different countries, many clients have reported wrong information being given out initially, it may take a bit of time for all to become clear.
  3. Hi @abhishekpatwani, the best thing to do is to ask them. All IG web pages start with ig.com/then the country code, UK is uk, Australia is au and Swiss is the link below, https://www.ig.com/en-ch/welcome In the page at the link below click on the 'learn more' link to send you to each countries own welcome page. https://www.ig.com/uk/compare-our-leveraged-trading
  4. Hi @GbemiO, thanks for the info, have you funded the account, where there any problems on that side?
  5. Hi @GbemiO, That has been raised recently on the forum but without comment from IG. IG has announced they will be releasing a range of new CFD (/ spread betting?) products that are ESMA compliant in the near future but no details given as yet. Mini contracts (1/10) are already available on the CFD platform and on the MT4 spread betting platform.
  6. Hi @Medusa123, just wondering, did you talk to IG Australia? Already being an IG client the sign up for an IG Australian account might be much simpler than starting fresh with a new company and as well avoiding the esma regulations.
  7. Yes, ASIC is Australia's version of the FCA. Account protection of up up £50,000 is provided by the FSCS (this is also the 'bank protection scheme') in the UK but there is no equivalent protection scheme in Australia. The regulatory authority in both UK and Australia (FCA and ASIC) demand client funds are held in a separate account to the brokers (ring fenced).
  8. Understandable @JohnRoxton, so many border countries are one foot in, one out and always under pressure from the EU to comply so thanks for the update.
  9. Hi @JohnRoxton, where did you see that? I would hope IG would have done their research before creating the page which is fairly new and the Swiss office must be aware of any imminent changes. ?
  10. If you haven't seen this already it answers some questions if you are looking to open an account outside the esma zone, it's a comparison of what IG can offer under each countries own regulations. https://www.ig.com/uk/compare-our-leveraged-trading
  11. Dow and Dax looking to push higher, FTSE with stubborn resistance at 7700. 4 hour charts.
  12. This video is doing the rounds again, published at the end of last year it looks at matching market cycle to strategy to indicators. Very good if you've not seen it before. 20 min.
  13. Word is Junker has given concessions and Trump has his deal. Dow 1 hour chart, expect the others to follow.
  14. I have been wondering just what pensions dates/data are being used that come out before the 12th and 26th, if that was known then a backtest should be relatively easy.
  15. Useful anniversary reminder of the relationship between Treasury Yields and Indices.
  16. Yesterday dow breached resistance while dax hesitated, today could swing on the Juncker visit. Trump will do a deal if the EU have anything to offer. A nice break upward for the ftse but the bulls will want to see some continuation. Charts;
  17. To answer my own question Switzerland can't come under ESMA as there are none of the esma 'protections' post Aug 1st as per this new IG page. https://www.ig.com/uk/compare-our-leveraged-trading
  18. Thanks @TrendFollower, also just noticed Australia and South Africa don't have a Gov't backed money protection scheme and does Switzerland come under ESMA or not?
  19. .... and just in time the email arrives, the down side of course is no tax exempt spread betting, no esma protection from negative balance, and the fact that your money is a long way away.
  20. Support looks to be in place so looking for an up day today.
  21. Hi @Aydin H, VWAP is not available on the web platform but was added to the IG version of Prorealtime with the arrival of version 10.3 in Feb 2017, but at that time there was no volume for currencies so VWAP did not work on currency charts, that may have changed as I have not used PRT for a while now. There are downloadable VWAP indicators available for the MT4 platform.
  22. Meant to add this report I read this morning but couldn't find it again. Relays how Beijing is being unusually cautious this time round (China only imports $130 Billion of US goods). https://www.scmp.com/news/china/economy/article/2156349/why-beijing-unusually-muted-donald-trumps-latest-us500-billion
  23. The indices are searching for support but we may well be getting close to the end game here as Trump threatens to go 'all in' with a tariff on the remaining imported goods from China ($500 Billion). Chinese can't respond in kind and have started to talk of a boycott instead, time to do a deal? 4 Hour charts;
  24. Hi @JohnWoottonUK & @PandaFace, Don't know too much about him or this Dow strategy. He does get a hat tip from Bill Bonner who I have followed for years. I was wondering where you found the strategy John and if you have done his 4 day course in the first link below? Panda, Eoin Treacy's book Crowd Money could be a contender for your tread on books (2nd link). http://www.tradingtriggers.co.uk/ http://systemsfortraders.com/forums/topic/crowd-money-review-eoin-treacy/
  25. Continues in it's rather elegant 90 point range since June 21. 4 Hour chart.
