Hello IG Community,

IG is always looking for ways to improve our clients’ experience. We are currently looking at how we can improve your experience before you place a trade. We would love to hear what market and pre-trade analysis you currently explore, as well as additional features, changes or improvements you would like to see to the platform in this area. Our goal is to make your analysis quicker and easier whilst remaining focused and in-depth.

Your poll vote matters! We are working towards making IG trading platform developments for the client sentiment indicator feature. We would appreciate it if you could take part in the poll as we are continuously working on adding more indicators to our IG trading platform to make your trading experience better.

Client Sentiment Indicator - IG trading platform

A sentiment indicator is designed to represent how a group feels about the market or economy. Sentiment indicators gauge market psychology in the form of investor or consumer behavior and beliefs that may influence the market.

When a sentiment indicator is moving in the same direction as what it is analyzing, that typically helps confirm that trend.

Extreme readings on a sentiment indicator may cause some traders to take a contrarian view; for example, "buy when there is fear, sell when there is greed".

Sentiment indicators are used to analyze trends, assets, and the economy from the perspective of the participants involved, instead of just looking at an asset or data point isolation.

I would like to see the inclusion or calculation of the fees and costs in maintaining open positions when trading CFDs in real-time and pre-contract execution. I am only using a demo account for now.

Can you add Market Cap as one of the column for watchlist and postions.

It would be great if the indicators on the platform included offset moving averages and the ability to change the inputs for standard indicators e.g. the period of RSI etc

Can you please increase the £500,000 exposure limit for Crypto assets on your Spread Betting accounts. Totally unnecessary to have such a arbitratry limit on this market.

It would be good to be able to group trades in different markets and set a collective monetary limit, e.g.  to close 2 positions (GBP/USD for +£30, Wall St for +£70, when they collectively reach a set monetary limit, £100).

Hi

1. Would be nice to see Total gain or loose when dealing with shares or others staff especially when trading shares $$. I mean if 01.01.2022 i bought 100 shares for 10$ on ratio 1.24 GBP/US and would like to see for example 3 days later if im on gain or loose when price is  11$ and rate 1.23. Not like now i need to go to history and check how much GBP i paid for 100 shares in dolars and simulate sell 100 shares to see what GBP i will get from trade.
2. Incoming dividends window would be nice like file below.

3. If in total in paid in on account 40k would like to see somewhere gain or loose from 40k not only gain or loose from open positions.

Please can you put Percentage %  profit or loss on open positions on the Spread bet platform - it's available on the Share dealing platform, why not on the spread bet one.?

This would help more objective and responsible trading IMV

Please, please remove 20 minute delays on stock prices, these cripple your trading platform. No amount of customer engagement, marketing, PR will overcome the fact that every time I look at the IG platform it is crippled, actually incorrect, and that there is still an old-school make money by removing functionality business model at IG.

Can you allow for smaller and fractional sizing of contracts ... as many contract sizes are too large for retail traders - especially Commodities.
The fractional sizing would allow for more accurate money management/position sizing.

Given that it's all just numbers handle by computers - it should matter whether your order is 0.10 / 1.0 / 10  or 1,000 etc  - would it not?

Your Risk Mgt/Market Marking again would be off an aggregate of numbers - so again, it shouldn't matter, if individual trades are 0.1 or 1,000 etc.

It would also allow trader to explore these larger markets - with small sizes with REAL money - as a Demo account is psychologically not the same as a Live account.

And from your perspective you would be getting greater turnover / commissions etc
And I'm sure your are aware your major competitors have significantly smaller sizes allowed?
You are giving away market share to them in this area??

Hi,

It would be nice to see you facilitate SIPP accounts. This will surely bring in more customers so why don't you do them? I tried to get mine transferred but you do not do them.

The other day I wanted to export data via a CSV file to develop some trading ideas/themes - however I was told that your platform does not support this. I have friends who trade on other platforms and they were surprised to hear that IG does not have this functionality, can I ask why IG does not do this and why ?

Charging a fee for voting services or a confirmation letter is very poor. Most other brokers offer this service free.  Charging money for a letter saying you own shares is poor

Why are there restrictions on online trading values, whereby for a large trade you must call a dealer and pay commission.  Such fees should be added to the online trading.  To have DMA/RSP and be restricted on single trades if poor.  All I do I place multiple smaller trades but I shouldn’t need to do this

Firstly I am very pleased with the information IG provides.

As to improvements

On share trading I would like to be able  to set a stop buy, that is a buy order if the price increases to a set amount, and at the same time to set a stop loss if the order is filled.

I would also like a real time stock scanner which has OCHLV data, historic volume, market cap, VWAP

Also I would like to see and be able to trade many more smaller uk companies on Level 2

And be able to access the app on my phone to see all the market graphs and data that are provided at the same time as using level2 on my computer.

Kind Regards

Hi @GDog,

IG operates under a direct custody model. This means shares purchased through IG will be held by Citi as the legal owner, with IG as the beneficial owner, and the client as the ultimate beneficial owner. Therefore we do not have direct access to voting and such documentation.

We do need to raise a request on our end to provide you with these services.

I will forward your feedback to the relevant department to be reviewed.

Thank you - Arvin

Advanced Order Types
I'd like to be able to construct an advanced order type and then have it 'clickable' as part of my workspace. As an example I'd like to be able to construct an order:

Buy 2x of CFD
Sell Stop at distance Z (Stop Loss Order)
AND ... this is the important bit....
2 resting limit orders (Sell 1x at price A and Sell 1x at price B) to exit. Note the execution of 1st limit sell automatically adjusts the StopLoss order.

I should be able to place this order with a single 'click' on the chart.

ProRealtime appears to possess this capability (user manual/help file/videos) but it's disabled?

This would make the trade execution and part-position trade management in short times frames very efficient.
Just a thought

Regards

Bill
