Charts not working in old platform - flash error

Guest Gaby

Question

Adobe ended the support of Flash Player on December 31, 2020; that means the software should be removed by client's computer to avoid security problems.

Without Flash charts don't work anymore (old Platform): is there a date when IG plan to resolve this issue?

I am not interested to use the new IG platform.

Thanks, Gaby

Hey,

I've requested our technical team to take a look at this and get back to me.

All the best

You have to be kidding that this question has not been answered! I have run into a problem today where the charts that were working after flash ceased are no longer working & the platform is calling for the installation of Flash, which can't be done because it doesn't exist.

Same problem as "Thinker" above. Charts were working last week. Pop out charts no longer working (asks for Flash installation). Tried on Chrome and Edge, same issue. Is a fix in progress? Thks.

Our technical team are advising me that this shouldn't impact the old platform charts and to use the new platform however if you want to stay on the old platform and are having chart issues please email them and let them know at chartsupport@marketdatasystems.com.

I have relayed this forum but if you want immediate help please contact them.

Update on this: I spoke to the technical team again as they were going to call the impacted clients but instead have raised a request so they now have a note on this and are looking to resolve it.

Thanks for your patience with this one.

Come on! This seriously needs to be attended to. It is just not good enough.

It is not a matter of "calling the impacted clients". The guy I spoke to on Monday did not even know Flash had been discontinued in spite of it being notified on every computer in the WORLD for the last 6 or 8 months. And he was in technical support? Common... we need to be treated better than fools. Fix it, even if it means a re boot of the system ... do it at 8am Melbourne time when most markets are closed.

This is seriously causing major problems & is not good enough.

@JamesIG

That is a disgraceful response!

The new platform does not have the same functionality as the old.

It does not have DMA ffs.... seriously! You expect us to trade on a market without the market depth of bid & offer showing?

And if it was the intention for it to take over, why in god's name did you not even have the courtesy & business eficacy to tell us & why did the person @ IG lie to me on Monday when I spoke to him on the phone & he said that it was a platform error that occurred on the weekend & I am sitting here waiting for it to be rectified. You had the charts operational and clearly & deliberately stopped them without telling us (your customers) in what appears to be a deliberate misleading & deceptive means of forcing us on to the new incomplete platform!

Just return the old platform to an operational basis as it is not fit for the purposes.

IG has committed offences under the Competition & Consumer Act by engaging in misleading & deceptive conduct!

you may have missed the date of that post, would be interested to know how tech plan to run the old platform (if they intend to) without Flash, not sure it's possible.

An incident has been made to get this resolved for all client who still wish to use the old platform.

    • It would be difficult and the next line of action would be withdrawal of assets to a good alternative exchange or wallet and observe how the whole drama will end
    • The recent turbulence in the market has resulted in significant losses and liquidations for many traders. While futures trading offers the potential for rapid portfolio growth, it also carries considerable risks, demanding both bravery and a strong belief in technical analysis (TA). However, despite my attempts, futures trading hasn't been my strong suit. Creating a resilient crypto portfolio doesn't necessarily mean diving into high-risk ventures like futures trading. It took me some time to realize that there are alternative, nearly risk-free methods to build a solid portfolio. Yet, the allure of quick profits in crypto often overshadows the patience required for these strategies. Whether you're involved in futures or spot trading, the market's unpredictability can lead to significant losses, as demonstrated by the recent downturn affecting BTC and most altcoins. Many traders found themselves unprepared, lacking sufficient USDT reserves for dollar-cost averaging (DCA) during market recoveries. Nevertheless, there is hope. For those looking to maximize profits while minimizing risks, products such as launchpools, launchpads, or PoolX offer promising opportunities. Available on various top centralized exchanges (CEX), these platforms involve staking assets like USDT, BGB, BNB, or OKB, depending on the exchange. One observation I've noted is that whenever an exchange announces a launchpool or launchpad event, the value of the exchange token tends to soar. This surge is fueled by users eager to participate and earn complimentary tokens. Following the event, participants can benefit from both the acquired tokens and the increased value of the exchange token. This approach has proven successful for me, as evidenced by the recent ENA launchpool event on Bitget. Have you explored similar opportunities in the past? Please feel free to share your experiences.
