Charts not working in old platform - flash error

Guest Gaby

Question

Adobe ended the support of Flash Player on December 31, 2020; that means the software should be removed by client's computer to avoid security problems.

Without Flash charts don't work anymore (old Platform): is there a date when IG plan to resolve this issue?

I am not interested to use the new IG platform.

Thanks, Gaby

Hey,

I've requested our technical team to take a look at this and get back to me.

You have to be kidding that this question has not been answered! I have run into a problem today where the charts that were working after flash ceased are no longer working & the platform is calling for the installation of Flash, which can't be done because it doesn't exist.

Same problem as "Thinker" above. Charts were working last week. Pop out charts no longer working (asks for Flash installation). Tried on Chrome and Edge, same issue. Is a fix in progress? Thks.

Our technical team are advising me that this shouldn't impact the old platform charts and to use the new platform however if you want to stay on the old platform and are having chart issues please email them and let them know at chartsupport@marketdatasystems.com.

I have relayed this forum but if you want immediate help please contact them.

Update on this: I spoke to the technical team again as they were going to call the impacted clients but instead have raised a request so they now have a note on this and are looking to resolve it.

Thanks for your patience with this one.

Come on! This seriously needs to be attended to. It is just not good enough.

It is not a matter of "calling the impacted clients". The guy I spoke to on Monday did not even know Flash had been discontinued in spite of it being notified on every computer in the WORLD for the last 6 or 8 months. And he was in technical support? Common... we need to be treated better than fools. Fix it, even if it means a re boot of the system ... do it at 8am Melbourne time when most markets are closed.

This is seriously causing major problems & is not good enough.

@JamesIG

That is a disgraceful response!

The new platform does not have the same functionality as the old.

It does not have DMA ffs.... seriously! You expect us to trade on a market without the market depth of bid & offer showing?

And if it was the intention for it to take over, why in god's name did you not even have the courtesy & business eficacy to tell us & why did the person @ IG lie to me on Monday when I spoke to him on the phone & he said that it was a platform error that occurred on the weekend & I am sitting here waiting for it to be rectified. You had the charts operational and clearly & deliberately stopped them without telling us (your customers) in what appears to be a deliberate misleading & deceptive means of forcing us on to the new incomplete platform!

Just return the old platform to an operational basis as it is not fit for the purposes.

IG has committed offences under the Competition & Consumer Act by engaging in misleading & deceptive conduct!

you may have missed the date of that post, would be interested to know how tech plan to run the old platform (if they intend to) without Flash, not sure it's possible.

An incident has been made to get this resolved for all client who still wish to use the old platform.

    • Look Ahead to 07/02/23: RBA; GB Retail Sales; BP, BNPP earnings Australia’s central bank is likely to deliver a fourth consecutive quarter-point interest rate hike, after further tightening by the Fed, the ECB and the BoE. Brace for UK retail, earnings from BP (BP) and BNP Paribas (BNPP). Also, look out for US trade balance figures and Halifax house price data ahead of key UK growth data out later in the week.    Angeline Ong | Presenter, Analyst and Content Editor, London | Publication date: Monday 06 February 2023
    • Hi, I am practicing certain strategies in demo account. I have created few screeners but when i tried to buy or short sell different stocks shortlisted based on screener conditions, i am getting different kinds of errors. Some stocks you can buy but can't short-sell and so on. I searched in the forums and i understand different restrictions such as market cap should be so and so. Are these rules defined somewhere?  for e.g. one forum reply says market cap should be above 10 billion otherwise you will get second message in below list. However even i try to short sell a stock that has £30 billion market cap, i get the same error.  1. IG is not accepting opening trades on this market, you may only place an order to close. 2. Market you have requested is not longer available online Any suggestions on the above will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
    • Charting the Markets - February 6, 2023 FTSE 100, DAX and S&P 500 tiptoe lower following strong US jobs report. EUR/USD and GBP/USD are topping out while EUR/GBP rallies. And gold, Brent crude, and natural gas head lower, as payrolls strengthen the dollar.                         This is here for you to catch up but if you have any ideas on markets or events you want us to relay to the TV team we’re more than happy to.
