It should be obvious to everyone by now that there won't be a 'chaotic no deal' so the pound has definitely bottomed out IMHO.  Shouldn't there be more demand for the pound considering the interest rate is higher than in Euroland, Japan and now even the U.S. ....

Labour has proposed renationalising water companies, which have been criticised for prioritising dividends and executive pay over preventing leaks and improving water quality.

Labour’s second most powerful man, John McDonnell, said earlier this year the government would pay less than 15 billion pounds to investors when it renationalises the companies.

oh dear, now Labour are going to nationalise internet access, free broadband for all 🙈🙉🙊

Labour’s #freebroadband proposal is a terrifying idea. The Corbyn movement is notoriously illiberal, censorious and hostile to internet freedom. Putting these authoritarians in charge of the web would be insane, says Brendan O’Neill

forgot to add that of course the free broadband is going to cost billions.

You find the prospect of fast, free broadband terrifying?  🤔

There are huge swathes of the country that cannot get good broadband or mobile access.  What will BoJo and his London set do about that?

no, it's them being in control of it that's terrifying. Pravda Internet Services

We all know that trillions of dollars of fake money gets shifted about every day in the FX markets, it's made convoluted so that nobody understands it but it's basically free money that the big boys make for themselves every day ... a few billion on something genuinely useful is far more worthy.

when the state controls the internet,

That wasn't my understanding.  They didn't say anything about censoring or controlling the content, just nationalizing the part of BT that's responsible for the fibre cabling and infrastructure.  A bit like how the railways are part-nationalized, private companies only compete for the profitable bits so leaving the burden of investment on the taxpayer.

A bit like how English water is plundered to provide profit while there are leaks all over the place.

Even Reuters, which is probably the most seemingly impartial MSM news source, is showing its colours:

Jules Wilde has never voted for Britain’s Conservatives and would hate to do so at the Dec. 12 election, yet for the first time in his life, the 62-year-old carer is considering backing the governing party because of Brexit.

The key takeaway from this is: LONG THE POUND.

labour has a frustrating habit of honing in on important issues which need addressing, and then offering ludicrous and nonsensical proposals which shouldn't see the light of day, are based on some strange ideology, and have no basis in reality.

its a shame.

Are these ideas more ludicrous than the idea of 'quantitative easing', whereby central banks give away free money to big financial institutions in a roundabout attempt to stimulate spending in the real economy?

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said on Monday he was putting on hold further cuts in corporation tax and told voters he would pump the money into services such as health instead, addressing a central issue in the Dec. 12 election.

This is an attempt to woo wavering voters who might be tempted to vote Labour, but the City will hate it!

Those pledges have been mocked by the Conservatives, with Johnson calling plans to nationalise broadband as a “crazed Communist scheme”.

The only thing missing from Labour's fully Marxist manifesto is price controls - something which the Conservatives have already introduced with the energy price cap :D

The media said Hillary would win by a landslide. :( (She got the most votes and still lost lol)

the media were (and still are) corrupt as were their polls, Hillary was speaking at BBQs while trump was speaking at stadiums, she got more votes because of the lib elite and leftists in a few big US cities but Trump won the largest number of 'seats' by a landslide, just as will happen in 2020 which is why the Dems are so desperate to get him impeached even if there is no actual evidence of any wrong doing. Sad.
