Thank you for taking the time to re-post this to me Charlotte. Maybe we're talking cross purposes? Regardless of where a business claims to make it's money, ultimately it's from the punters who pay in to the service. It's either from the Spread, Or Hedging, or re-investing, or whatever. The main point being that if (Hypothetically) 100% of Retail Traders Won Every Single Trade, who pays them? where does that money come from? Therefore there is a Risk Management strategy in play to ensure IG doesn't lose out. IG, like other retail businesses is a Profit making enterprise....If it was evident that the market was crashing this week, it's in everyone's interest to ensure huge losses don't occur. I'm not suggesting IG is corrupt, but in the same way an Insurance Broker operates, IG must limit its own exposure to loss. My statement is in direct reflection of the sentiment in the forums; that this instance is not isolated. It's raising eyebrows to say the least! See above.

There are millionaires trading in here....When they make 100k, where does that money come from? Ironically, IG also has Risk Management. As they make money from the 76% of Retail Punters who lose, they must also pay out to the 24% that Win!

I recently took part in a Q&A with IG......apparently a lot of problems are being addressed very soon in an Update. Not sure I have the confidence to stick around and wait for it.

Hi, my platform setting have all reset to default removing all indicators and changed the colour from dark to light. I've had trouble logging in most of last week too and clearly today is no exception. Can anyone give me an idea on why my platform settings have reset to default?

I had it on last year but disabled it as i couldn't figure out how to trade while not showing a Balance! Seems trivial, but necessary.....any updates on how to see your balance?

@Spectate99 Unfortunately I have questions re the demo account and Live Retail going back to last April still with no responses from IG. Also referred to technical with no replies to date. It's been heavily hinted at that it's not really fit for purpose and more of a 'Guide' platform to show you the ropes; a more visual Demo than Real World. It seems popular opinion is to use ProRealTime and literally ignore the Retail Platform. I myself just yesterday, noticed the Demo charts were actually reporting more info re Candle Patterns than the Live Retail Plat.......I'm not even going to try for assistance on it. I don't even bother asking for help in here now. @Caseynotes however always has some helpful input but IG from a technical point have never provided me with a solution, other than to suggest my my machine, my internet, my eye colour or I'm wearing the wrong pants! Maybe it's my sarcasm getting in the way? Happy Trading Day peeps.

I'm still not Live pal.....Tested my fear again last month and lost £60 over 20 trades. Small £2 or so losses throughout the day. I knew i still had the Fear so needed a Live test on it. Yep, still very much there even for £2! Though I've no doubt the Breakout Out strategy works, I'm not sure I'm cut out for this after all. I simply can't handle a Loss! 😮 We'll know by the end of the year.

hahaha. I've just had charts up on retail Demo.......All seemed fine......also launched Live Retail platform. Chart data was 7 mins behind the demo same stock! No faith at all!

Gone back to Windows10. PRT works out of the box :D

......it's beyond my understanding! Why oh why did i ditch Windows??! 😮
