  1. When I added the link for the Udemy online courses site in the last post I didn't actually notice that they are currently having a 7 day black Friday sale event with many courses offered at a 75% price reduction.
  2. Hi @rachelbarnes, a platform's time zone is dependent on your broker's data feed. I think IG only has UK time and Australian eastern for the Australasian region. Very few platforms incorporate the facility to change time zones, Trading View is one but I don't think IG has a hook up with them to deal through. The ProRealTime platform, which IG does provide (with conditions), also has the function to change time zones .
  3. Digital Filters This should really have been included before the adapters section as it was the development of digital filters that lead to adaptive indicators. Digital filter type indicators use a 2 phase system, a fast average and a slow average and expanding on that simple premise a digitally filtered indicator can incorporate; FATL fast adaptive trend line SATL slow adaptive trend line RFTL reference fast trend line RSTL reference slow trend line FTLM fast trend line momentum STLM slow trend line momentum. So from the family of digital filters any can be used individually or collectively to give a sliding scale reference between fast and slow periods of the market which can become a stand alone indicator or incorporated into another indicator influencing it's plot on the chart. Main 4 DFs Separate STLM Histo FATL Channel FATL 1&4 Hour DZ DF Averages 1&4 Hour.
  4. Hi @TrendFollower, Marwood have been offering courses for some time and are perfectly legit, the price reduction thing usually occurs for a couple reasons namely they may be about to update and refresh the course, 'all new', and also there will be a lure at the end to try to get you to sign up for another one which some will do if they liked the content of the free taster. Udemy do it all the time, see https://www.udemy.com/topic/stock-trading/ I am a Test and born on the 12th of June because of a glitch that occurred when we were transferred from the old Forum platform to this new one, I was a nothing for a long while so 'Test' feels like a promotion. I think test must be a recent attempt to rectify the glitch.
  5. Coupon for free 'Candlestick Analysis For Professional Traders' online course. https://research.jbmarwood.com/p/candlestick-analysis/?product_id=287453&coupon_code=TWITTERSB
  6. I knew this stock was slipping but not quite as much as this. Nvidia make computer graphics card chips the use of which (and price of) exploded on the Bitcoin mining craze, does this mean now that mining has reached capacity, how many coins are left to mine? and will the price of graphics cards come down now. Would further rallies still be a shorting opportunity?
  7. No problem @theshidoshi, can perfectly well understand the frustration and you are correct that many share the same and have voiced it here on the forum on many occasions. Because of that I am fairly certain that the DRP addition is a major priority and that is a good point you raise, I remember thinking when originally replying to your post 'how could you estimate how long it would take to test and debug a new product', but as you say, just to know it was even in testing would be something. Announcement of new products is not one of IG's strong points and it's not unusual for new products to just appear on the platform to be 'discovered' by users, the arrival of the KO options was one such. Certainly something IG could work on.
  8. Dow holding onto it's gains from yesterday in spite of Nikkei falling away. Dax and Ftse copying Dow though testing short term resistance just before the European open. 1 Hour charts;
  9. So the US open turned into something akin to a bare knuckle brawl between the bulls and bears that went on for over half an hour before I had to give up my ring side seat. Looking back at the charts now and on the 4 hour chart Dow bulls have managed to put in their largest bar stretching back well into last month (still an hour to go before US close).
  10. Adaptive Indicators. Adaptive versions of an indicator incorporate a slow and fast phase component that allows the indicator 'adapt' to changing price/time conditions. Adaptive Averages with Jurik Filter. Adaptive Gann High - Low Activator. Adaptive Volty ATR Cloud.
  11. All 4 indices showing early signs of looking to test resistance today, Dax and Ftse particularly active out of hours. Dow trying to bounce off 24932 and needs to surpass 25200 for an attempt on 25497. Dax and Ftse also looking at yesterday's highs. 1 Hour charts;
  12. Going into the last hour of the US session and Dow looking to dig itself out of a hole while Dax takes a breather after throwing itself about all day as did Ftse, Nikkei remains calm while awaiting the APAC open. 4 hour charts;
  13. More Dynamic Zone indys; DZ Know Sure Thing. DZ Polyfit Derivative of Averages. DZ Traders Dynamic Index;
  14. Yeah, there's a difference between taking a small speculative bet with a tight stop that you can add to later if it works out and trying to catch the proverbial 'falling knife' as was mentioned in the video @Mercury. Yesterday's oversized bear candle may well have been an exhaustion candle where buyers were overwhelmed and filling a vacuum when others cancelled orders and cleared out to regroup further down, perhaps around the current level which was a major level of consolidation for the first 3 months of 2017. Certainly the current consensus is for the down trend to continue but every market needs pullback to reload the order book.
  15. Yes, a very good video, I particularly liked the use of vwap on the weekly chart to find boundaries with support/resistance confluence then switching to market profile for a look at the daily distributions. Liked as well at the end when talking about price needing to get back above an area of consolidation before actually considering a long trade.
  16. Dynamic Zone Indicators. Many will have seen DZ versions of indicators such as on the PRT platform, they have floating levels for over bought and over sold but many simply have a Bollinger band component rather than true DZ which is closer related to Quantile bands rather than BB. Having floating OB/OS levels gives them more precision and meaning. Below is DZ Ehler's Fisher transform on a 1 hour chart giving advance warning of major turning points at OB and OS and good divergence signals.
  17. Indices fully coiled with clear levels marked up, just waiting for the start gun and a sense of direction. 1 hour charts;
  18. Word on the street is that as the Saudis have been pumping at over capacity for a while now they will be forced to cut back soon because of reduced storage capacity and the need for industry wide plant maintenance.
  19. Ftse increasingly skittish as deal or no deal countdown runs down takes an extended dive on the bearish US open but follows Dow back up on the next 1 hour bar. Dax making the most of the day but then it had the most to make up. Over to Nikkei soon enough which has a recent series of higher highs and higher lows under it's belt may bode well for the next session.
  20. How about these MTFs, 15 min chart with 1 hour Heikin Ashi overlay. 15 min chart with 1 hour 2 x MACD (12, 26, 9 and 24, 52, 18). 15 min chart with 1 hour RSI and 7 MA period overlay.
  21. Thought I'd start a thread on the deep and mysterious world of MT4 indicators starting with MTFs. MuiltiTimeFrame indicators are popular on MT4 and a great tool not just for keeping in touch with the higher time frames on the one chart but also to help time entries and exits and staying in trends. The indicator itself has an adjustable time frame setting allowing the current time frame to be adjusted to any higher mt4 time frame so you can either use 1 to flick through time frames or have more than 1 permanently set. Below is a 15 min Dax chart with a 15 min stochastic and under that is a 1 hour stochastic (same default settings for both). Points of note are the d,k crosses on the 15 min can be muddled compared to the 1 hour, the M15 stoch gives multiple false exit signals to get out of the trend while the H1 stoch has crisp and clear crosses of d,k as well as clear crosses of overbought and sold, stays for the full length of the trend as well as crossing and exiting over sold in good time to catch the emerging new up trend. Combined they provide the alertness of a shorter time frame with the steadiness of the higher time frame without having to chop and change charts or have multiple small charts covering the screen.
  22. Hi @Pixelated, you can ask for them to be included on the IG list here on the forum or by contacting IG by other means, if they meet IG's criteria for listing there should be no problem, which ones were you looking for?
  23. As mentioned in the EMEA Brief below German economic sentiment (10 am) expected to come in negative again today so making the 8th straight month and the actual number will be important too (see graph). Plus the German GDP q/q number tomorrow expected to be negative, that hasn't happened since 2014. Dax currently 90 points higher since the open ...er.
  24. Dow approaches the highs so Trump once again increases the pressure on China one more notch, this time he was so confident he took aim at both China and Europe together, he's playing this like a fiddle. So we see the resulting pullback and look for support, Nikkei in step with Dow while Dax and Ftse continue their divergent path but remain in step with each other though each with their own EU concerns. Ftse hoping for support off 7026 while Dax is hanging in mid air, may be buoyed by Nikkei finding support at it's monthly chart support level 21451.
