How do we nominate a beneficiary or beneficiaries to our holdings?

I would like to know the details of it please.

    Thanks for your posts.

If the worst were to happen we would need the following from person you're leaving the funds to:

    - Death certificates

    - Will

    - Bank statement for executor's account we'd remit funds to.

    - If over £500 with us then we'd also need grant of probate to release the funds

This is our process if a trader with us dies.

If you need anymore information on this let me know.

    Hi there!

I´m new to the platform, I wanted to know if it´s possible to trade CFD´s without a margin, this might seem contradictory as CFD´s are leverage products but I´m sure there´s an option for those wanting to trade with their own funds only.

    Thank you in advance.

    Hello,

I have the same question and I can’t find the answer. I would like to trade without using leverage and I would like to know if it is possible before start trading live.

Nobody replied to your question but did you find the answer in the meantime?

What I think is that we don’t trade CFD’s if we have enough funds for the position size but I would like to be sure that it works this way with this broker.

    Hey both,

We offer Share dealing & ISA accounts that are non-leveraged trading. They allow you to buy shares.

However, the markets we offer on the CFD account such as indices, commodities, forex, options e.c.t. we only offer with fixed leveraged. You can't trade without leverage. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

    Hello,

You described my experience selling and wanting to transfer funds to ISA and re-buy a week ago. However, when selling a T-3 stock on Friday in my ISA, you allowed me to transfer these unsettled funds to my Share dealing account today. So it didn’t follow the same rule.

does this only affect Share to ISA or certain stocks? Or is there something else o am missing?

    Thank you

The settlement affects ISAs and share dealing accounts.

I've never heard of stock settle that fast. Also the ISA and Share dealing accounts have different tax wrappers which is why we don't let them transfer when they're not settled.

Unfortunately you can't post any personal data so I can't find your account but if you're curious I would suggest reaching out to the trading team on helpdesk.uk@ig.com.

    Hi @CharlotteIG.

Similar to the people above, I've also been waiting a while to have my account approved. Can this be looked into?

    Thanks,

    Rashid

Thank you for letting me know.

I've reached out to our account opening team to check the account progress. They will relay information to our new business team. If they need anything more from you they will reach out.

At the moment they're quite busy so please do give them some time but if you think it's taking to long do reach out to me or the team.

This would be so good. The advantage from IG's perspective is you could potentially stop having to support your own charts/advanced charts.

When you say soon, any more specific?

    Many thanks

Yes, I'm pushing the team for a date and have informed them of all this positive feedback we're getting from traders about trading view.

They haven't been able to give me specifics as they're still working with Trading view. I don't think it's going to be in the next few months but as soon as I get an update I will update this group!

All the best and apologies I can't be more specific about this.

I attempted to buy 1,500 shares using a DMA Limit order at price less than the current offer price to reduce the spread. I set the order to expire at close of day. The order was partially filled and I ended up with just 109 shares. I would rather the order was either completely filled or rejected. Is there a way I could have done this?

    Hey @tripplex

    Thanks for your question.

    image.png

Here are the order types. You can do a 'Market order' however you have no control over the price your shares will be filled at.

As you know the limit and stop orders can be partially filled so this may not be the best option for you.

At quote orders means your order will be immediately executed if you choose to accept it. You can put in the number of shares you want to buy and the market maker will offer you a price that you can either accept or reject.

    I hope this helps.

Could someone explain the benefits to IG by not offering a leverage of 500:1 ?

Do IG not have an office set up in a jurisdiction that allows more leverage than the U.K. & European and Australian ASIC restrictions upon retail level accounts ?

The web page where IG offers to compare leverage rates from their global offices, actually provides no information on leverage:-

    https://www.ig.com/en-ch/compare-our-leveraged-trading#information-banner-dismiss

    Hey,

With leveraged there's been a lot of regulatory changes over the last 2 years in the UK which we have to follow as a regulated company.

More regulators around the world are taking the same approach which is why we don't offer higher leverage.

I hope this clarifies why we don't offer 500:1 leverage. All the best

    Why can't I open a sipp account?

Regretfully, we’re currently not able to take on any new SIPP applications. We hope to offer new SIPP accounts soon and are working on contracting with a new provider.

Once we’ve established a solution, notifications will be provided either via email and/or banners on our website, and you’ll then be able to apply for a new SIPP account online through your My IG dashboard.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

No dates yet. James Hay stopped taking new clients from IG in October 2020 and IG have been promising to give details of a new provider since then. Despite saying in January it would be a few months, there is still no news. They also agreed to update the website but I'm not aware that they've done this yet. Beginning to think Interactive Investor might be a better option.

    Hi,

I have just opened a Demo account and learning to trade.

For CFD trades, when I select 1 in the size does that mean I’m entering a contract and if 2, means I’m entering 2 contracts?

    Hey,

With CFD contracts have different sizes for example:

But the other markets have contract sizes which you can check on the deal ticket:

    image.png

So here you can see if you chose Oil ($10) that means if you opened one contract ever point movement would be (1 x $10) so $10 movement.

If you had 5 Oil ($10) contracts each point movement would be (5 x $10) so $50 movement per point.

Managed to get hold of support via the chat this morning and they confirmed my suspicion. This is only for new client creating a TV account and opening an IG account. This is currently the business relationship with TV at the moment and it will not includes links to execution. It was hinted by the user that there was "more to come in 1-2 years" with TV....so it seems we can not worry about this thread for another 1-2 years...

This is the case. Sorry I haven't got back to this I've been liaising with the teams and there were some dates being said but I didn't want to confirm until I had the facts.

@CharlotteIGCan you help me? in CFD we see only price difference based on chart right? no underlying shares are owned? can you help me ?

If there's a stock split we will mimic what's going on in the underlying as it's fair practice.

It's the same fair practice we use when there are dividend adjustments when the price moves down because a div has been paid out there will be an adjustment on leveraged clients accounts.
