This morning just before 8 my BYD position was closed by IG.  I had plenty of money in my account.  Why did this happen and where can I complain.

    Hey @Getrich

If you had sufficient funds on your account we wouldn't have closed it due to a margin call. I would advise reaching out to us so we can look into the position and let you know why it was closed.

I have shares of the Deliveroo IPO with PrimaryBid and I have given them my IG account ID to transfer the correspondent value to IG. Is the share dealing account ID the same as the general investment account number (GIA)? Is there anything else that I have to provide to PrimaryBid for IG to accept the transfer of these IPO shares? Has anyone done this before (PrimaryBid to IG) who can give me tips to avoid any issues with the transfer? Thanks

    Thanks for your post.

What’s the GIN number when opening a Primary Bid account?

The GIN number is your IG share dealing account number. This can be found on the MyIG page. Make sure that you are using your correct share dealing account number - do not use an ISA account number or one of your leveraged accounts (CFD or spread betting) as we will not be able to accept shares into these other account types.

Hmmm.. Im new To IG, I am having CFD orders auto cancel out of profit the second they are placed.Like, within a second or two. Cant find a reason, I have no stop loss in effect. Im using a demo to get a feel for the new platform but this never happens on other platforms not even once.

I dont think ill go live on this platform with real money if its just going to auto torch me on every trade.

    Am I missing something?

If possible do you have a video of setting up the trade then when it closes. And Ideally the demo history log.

Then we can determine why the positions closing.

The criteria is unclear. The one I referred today got refused because she only has 22K AUD in saving. And the CS refused to tell her how much is the minimum. Seriously how much more you need to open an account?  This is just a strategy to avoid paying referral that ending this month or what?

    Thanks for your post.

Having new customers come to IG is a positive thing for our business. If we didn't want to pay out referral bonuses we wouldn't offer the scheme.

    Hi,

I have maxed out on £1,000 on my PrimaryBid account and linked it to my IG account. My friend also has a PrimaryBid account and is happy to transfer his allowance of shares to me as he doesnt want them. I have checked with PrimaryBid and they confirm this shouldnt be a problem from their end and asked I should just check with IG if they can accept shares from two different PrimaryBid accounts under different names into just one IG account. Please could you confirm this is possible?

    Thanks for the post.

I've just spoken to our corporate actions team and unfortunately it's not something we can do.

    Apologies for the inconvenience.

I just sold a bunch of stocks on my share dealing account in order to then transfer those funds into my CFD account. Under "available to deal" it says £487 (the correct amount received after selling those stocks).

However, when I go to transfer funds, on "available balances", share dealing is marked as £0 and consequently I cannot transfer my "available to deal"/free funds from my share dealing account into my CFD.

I have waited about an hour since selling the stocks. Does anyone know why this is happening? Do I just need to wait? I do not see why waiting would help as the stocks have been sold and it appears that the money has been credited in my account.

    Thanks,

    Sam

    Thanks for your post.

Please know the settlement period works on a T+2 (T+3 for US shares) basis. This means the cash for these shares won't settle on your account the day you sold them but two (3 for US) working days.

Many thanks for your understanding. I hope this clarifies why you can't withdraw your funds at the moment.

As per regulation a person can only contribute to ISA account as long as he is a resident of UK.

But can continue to hold shares / funds in ISA account even after he moves of of UK.

    My questions are:

    1) Can I operate my IG ISA account from outside UK with existing funds? Does IG app and website access would be available?

    2) If needed can i transfer funds from IG account to bank outside UK?

Has anyone in this forum has personal experience.

    Thanks

    Hey,

    Thanks for your post.

    1) Once you have declared to IG that you've moved to another country you will not be able to pay any money into the account or buy more shares. You will be able to sell your shares though and withdraw funds.

    2) Depending on how long you've had your account with us will have an impact on where the funds can be sent to. For example with very new clients you can only send funds back to the source you funded with. Reach put to us via email if you need us to check your account and let you know which withdrawal methods are possible.

    Thanks for your post.

Sorry you haven't been able to get through to us. You can request them via email.

In order to complete your Bed & ISA, please complete the information required below:

    Bed & ISA process:

Please ensure the full information is provided
    Account number:
    Share name:
    Number of Shares/ Value:

Note: Bed & ISA's can only be actioned for UK shares only.
    Notification of costs:
    Costing is as follows:

£40.00 dealing charge per share line.
    £30.00 capped spread charge.
£2 PTM Levy (For transactions over £10,000 notional)
Stamp Duty 0.5% of notional value (If applicable)

You can make your request by responding to this email. The process may take up to a week to complete due to the volume of calls and emails we're experiencing currently.

It may be worth putting the subject of the email as 'Bed and ISA urgent' as it's close to the end of the tax year (5th April).

You are correct though you can sell your shares wait for the funds to settle and buy them back in the ISA but note that you have to pay commission and the markets can move whilst you want for the funds to settle/ transfer.

How do I authorise an international broker to broker transfer electronically to my IG Share Trading Account for UK shares I own, without a CREST ID? The UK Broker (Registrar) that holds the shares (Equiniti) requires a CREST ID from me in order to initiate the transfer. The form IG supplies online does not appear to be adequate. Equiniti offers to send a paper share certificate but I want to avoid that genuine 1970's approach at all costs, it sounds horrific.  Thanks.

    Hey,

    Thanks for your post.

You will need to put your client ID for your share dealing account in that slot. If the company holding the shares question you on this say IG doesn't give this out but when you  (the broker) contact them the data will be provided.

All the best and apologies for the inconvenience.

I'd like to transfer my S&S Isa from Lloyds to IG, how long does it take & what are the costs?

Also will my shares be inaccessible for any time during the transfer?

    Hey, thanks for your post.

To transfer your ISA from Lloyds to IG you will need to make a live account with IG> Add an ISA.

Once these steps have been taken you will be able to go to the following MYIG page> Live accounts> Change account you're viewing to ISA> Stock transfer. and follow the steps from there.

Transfers can take 4-6 weeks depending on how cooperative your current broker is.

I hope this helps if you have any other questions let me know.

    Hey,

If you're transferring shares out of IG you need to speak to the company you're transferring the shares to. They will more than likely ask you to fill our a form and then they'll contact us regarding the transfer.

Hello.  I am trying to move shares between a share dealing account and a ISA account.  I have been told that I need to do this by phoning IG.  But they don't answer the phone.  Presumably I can do this myself by selling the shares and transferring the money into the ISA account and re-buying the shares.  There would in this be the charge of selling and buying - would there also be a cost for the transfer between accounts?  There is the obvious risk in this of movement in share value (in either direction) during the process of selling, transferring and buying, but I don't see an alternative if I cannot speak to anyone at IG.  Does anyone have experience of this sort of transaction?

    Hi Charlotte,

    Thanks for the post.

One point of clarification - Who can participate through Primary bid?

I understand that there is an allocation of £50m for Deliveroo account/app holders, which will allow users to apply for 250, 500, 750 or £1k worth of shares - this has been defined by Deliveroo.

The above post appears to imply this is open to IG share dealing clients in the UK, but does not mention you need to be a Deliveroo client.

Can you clarify if this is leveraging the Deliveroo client allocation or is this is a separate allocation given to institutions for their retail clients?

    Thanks,

    TFFX

    Hey @TFFX_

    Really good question!

So yes you need to be a Deliveroo client. Only IG share dealing clients can participate and this is the account the subscription will be sent to once completed. The information can be found here: https://www.ig.com/uk/shares/ipos/deliveroo-ipo
