haha so not flu and pneumonia now, just flu. It is obvious what the ONS have done, their job is to answer  specific questions not keep a running tab though for some stats they do. Someone has asked a specific question (flu + pnuemonia for 3 specific years) and a researcher has turned up with stats that clearly don't fit what was actually happening at the time.

There was a flu pandemic in 2017/18. Simple. 2018/19 was a mild year with far fewer deaths which lead to 2019/20 having more than average.

Utter nonsense as per the ton of data already posted here, the vaccines do not reduces transmissions or hospitalisations or deaths by the latter variants. Can only be made to look so if you include historic data from Alpha which itself died out months ago.

Any sensible gov’t would be celebrating its spread and reviewing the delivery of a programme that appears to do nothing to reduce its transmission. Now not only S African doctors but the CDC can ask ‘why do you not believe us?’ But that would not help promoting digital ID.

LONDON — U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson confirmed Monday that at least one patient infected with the new omicron variant of Covid-19 has died in the country.

“Sadly yes, omicron is producing hospitalizations and sadly at least one patient has been confirmed to have died with omicron,” Johnson told reporters on a visit to a vaccination clinic near Paddington, London, according to Sky News.

 

“So I think the idea that this is somehow a milder version of the virus, I think that’s something we need to set on one side and just recognize the sheer pace at which it accelerates through the population. So the best thing we can do is all get our boosters,” he said.

It’s the first publicly confirmed death globally from the new variant.

Earlier on Monday, U.K. Health Secretary Sajid Javid told the BBC that 10 people were currently in hospital after being infected with the omicron variant. Javid said omicron was spreading at a “phenomenal rate” and cases were doubling every few days.

It comes after a study announced by the University of Oxford on Monday found that two doses of either the Oxford-AstraZeneca or Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine were substantially less effective at warding off omicron compared to previous variants of the coronavirus.

haha, the data is clear, the vaccines don't work anymore (reminder, they only gave a 1% risk reduction in the first place) and cloth masks can't stop an airborne virus.

Only natural immunity can work against highly mutable viruses. Protect the vulnerable and allow those at low risk of harm to gain natural herd immunity for everyone.

Countries are stock pilling vaccine doses for a continuous vaccination programme, Australia has so far bought enough for 14 shots per person.

Each shot adds vaccine pressure to encourage the virus to evolve at an ever increasing rate while depleting the natural immune system's own antibody production.

This idiocy is going to have very serious consequences if it's not stopped immediately.

The PCR produces mostly false positives because it is being run at 40+ cycles and so is only picking up old dead viral fragments caused by a properly working  natural immune system.

The vaccine efficacy has turned NEGATIVE, so not reducing illness at all but is causing it for most age groups.

Did you actually read the article?

Professor Emma Duncan said: 'Vaccination remains extremely important, to help protect yourself, your family, and your community from Covid.

The vaccines are saving lives: they are reducing illness, hospitalisations and deaths. As well as reducing transmission.
