Has anyone else received this email? I got this email from IG today and they also refunded me some money (although its the wrong amount).

Did they get sued by someone? Has anyone got any more information on this?

    Hi @jasear,

IG did sent an email out to non-leveraged accounts affected by the complex instrument issue.

You received this email because you’ve traded one (or more) of these products where it may not have been appropriate for you. Where that is the case, we should have provided you with a risk warning before allowing you to trade.

We believe it’s fair to compensate clients for losses incurred on these complex products where we should have displayed a risk warning and did not do so. We’ll reimburse your IG account shortly after you receive this email.

Please reach out to helpdesk.uk@ig.com or call 0800 195 3100 for further assistance.

    Thank you - Arvin

I just went long on some fairly illiquid shares in the FTSE in expectation of a hike in the share price when earnings are release tomorrow am. It's showing that I have a £45 loss next to it and the share price hasn't moved. Does anyone know why that is?

    Hi @smu11en,

Could you please clarify which stocks they are? We will be able to check the charts for you.

It could be due to a Corporate action.

    Thank you - Arvin

    Hi,

I have shares issued to me from a NASDAQ listing. They were not purchased through IG so I need to an DRS request to move the shares to IG. I have emailed helpdesk.uk with details for DRS but it's like a black hole ...

Anyone had any experience / luck? Otherwise, I don't know how I can move the shares!

    Thanks

    Mike

    Hi @mike_a_bell,

If you hold shares directly with a UK registrar (such as Equiniti, Computershare or Capita) in an electronic format, there is no need to follow the broker-to-broker transfer process or complete a CREST form. You will need to complete and email us a signed Form E/Change of Nominee form found on your registrar’s website. Electronic signatures are not accepted.

    I hope that it helps.

    Hi

In my CFD account history I can see Transactions, Past Activity, and Profit/loss Breakdown.

Under Transactions I can see every daily activity back to 2011 - including daily interest etc.

Under Past Activity, I can see open/close etc activity, again going back to 2011.

However, under Profit/loss, which aggregates everything for each closed position (interest, dividends, open/close price etc) to give a "tada" number - this only seems to go back to 2019.

Is there a way of seeing P/L statements for the earlier years?  Working those out from the individual transactions would be pretty much impossible - not least because you can't attribute daily interest to individual positions.

    Thanks

    Hi Tanker,

Please reach out to helpdesk.uk@ig.com with your account details and the years you are after.
Our helpdesk will be able to provide you with the relevant information if available.

    Thank you - Arvin

I always had windows laptop where I used the PRT website rather than PRT loaded on my laptop. Mainly because I couldn’t download the software on my laptop for some reason.

i now have a MacBook Pro. My question is is it safer and better to download the PRT software on to my MacBook or continue use the website?

    Hi @igreen,

I asked your question to our IT team. It terms of your details being safe, there is no difference between the web base platform and the installed version.

If you need further information on PRT please feel free to reach out to helpdesk.uk@ig.com.

Does IG online platform (not MT4, not PRT) allows a trader to put a pending buy stop and sell stop order?

Meaning, to buy only if price break above $120 by 1 penny.

Or, to sell only price breaks below $100 by 1 penny.

    Thank you.

    Hi @Dominic4782,

On the dealing ticket you will find the information in stop/limit:

On some market the stop or limit will need to be further away as set by the Dealing desk.

I cannot understand my total account value in my shares ISA when I have open positions, find it confusing.

I bought seven shares, and the total profit and loss in the positions tab seems to be more ( if you add them up ) than total account value profit and loss. Even after factoring in trading fees, it does not tally up. I have noticed this before, a few pounds missing there. I've been in this positions for weeks now and they are doing the same thing, if that's the case, it's a waste of money holding shares in IG Index.

    Tamas

    Hi @MonoxyCzupi,

Thank you for you message. It seems that you have a normal share dealing account and not an ISA account.
In terms of the P/L ,The stocks might be in different currencies.  Once you add the position tab to your Workspace, you will be able to set the P/L in your base currency:image.png

You will find more details on ISA accounts here.

Hello. Is ProRealTime on the demo account for free?

    Hi @PeterUK123

There is no charge for PRT demo accounts. You can only access it for a limited period of time. At some point you will need to subscribe to live PRT account to access the demo account.

You can get access to ProRealTime charts at no extra cost if you transact at least four times in a given month. However, if you don't meet this requirement, or your trading activity is of extremely low value, then a £30 per month fee will apply on the last day of every calendar month

    Hello,

May I ask why the consideration price is different to the proceed price? Say I sold my stocks at $172 for 8 stocks, so the total consideration price $1376, but the actual value (the amount I received) is much lower than the consideration price? I have already minus the commission fee and stuff, but it doesnt seem to add up? amy thanks

    Hi @TCC,

It is possible that it is the conversion fee of 0.5% if the stocks are in a foreign currency.

    What stocks did you sell?

    Thank you - Arvin

I am using the online trading platform for my charts. Is there any way to remove the little pop-up window that shows up next to the cursor when you hover over a chart? I've attached a screenshot of the window I am referring to. It gets in the way and is annoying, is there no way to turn it off?

    Hi @isaiahb07,

You can remove this Window of data.
Right click on the chart and select Show > HLOC data:

    The window won't display anymore.

AU platform, trying to do this for a US stock.

This would be very useful and, as mentioned, seems a rather basic functionality.

Why do some stocks trading, eg Paypal, have trading hours from 09:00 to 01:00, and not the usual hours of one of the exchanges eg 08:00 to 16:30 for London?

    Hi @NickW-uk,

PayPal has different hours as UK stocks, because it is listed on the NASDAQ therefore it us US hours.

Hi I want to change my base currency to USD only. I don't want to trade in GBP. Can you guys arrange that for me please 🙂

    Hi Imraan,

As explained above, if you have a share dealing account you can change your settings to manual conversion ( be aware of changes in commissions) .

If you have a CFD account and you never traded yet you can email us at helpdesk.uk@ig.com to change your base currency to USD.

You can also add an CFD account and change the base currency to USD and have two accounts with 2 different currencies.

    I hope that it helps.

For Share dealing accounts you will have these options at the top :

Unfortunately the Trade Analytics tools are only available on leveraged accounts.

This tool is still in a Beta stage, it is possible that it will be more developed in the future.

    Hi,

Are there any charts available to show the performance and allocation of my overall portfolio?

The 'Positions' window gives helpful but basic info on each position but it would be great to have a way to quickly overview its overall performance over time, like any other stock and the addition of a column which shows the size of a position in my current portfolio would be very helpful (Even a book cost in GBP would make things much easier).

Currently, as the Book cost of of my positions are different denominations, its difficult to determine the overall size of a position in my portfolio comparatively.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

You can use the Trade Analytics tools :

Hi AndalG, your reply is much appreciated.

However when I look at the shares I hold within the ISA account under the 'DEAL' area as you've indicated above, the only options available under 'ORDER TYPE'  are:

QUOTE, with sub options of 'fixed price quote' or 'On Exchange - limit order'

ORDER Type:  'STOP' is not available for selection !  Should it be? Is it something that could be made available or not?

    Kind Regards.

    Hi @FOYBOY,

It is likely that the market is closed. For share dealing the orders goes directly yo the market.  You can try when the market is open, or just before opening.
