    Hey guys,

Hope you're all keeping well after the Christmas break!

I referred a friend under the IG referral scheme around a week ago and the referral is still sat in pending. Is it common to take this long to approve or is it likely that my referral hasn't met the qualifying criteria (if any) yet?

    Thanks x

    Hey,

Referral runs are done weekly. Make sure your friend has met all the critiria, when it says your friend has to trade once it has to be a leveraged trade (spread betting or CFD).

I refer a friend run was done yesterday so if you believe that all criteria were met let us know at helpdesk.uk@ig.com and ask for an update :)

According to IG's website, there are no overnight fees when you spread bet on futures - is this correct? And if so why?

Since it's a leveraged product, am I not effectively borrowing money when I spread bet, regardless of whether it be on spot on future?

I've read that the overnight fees are accounted for in the spread for the spread bets on futures, though it looks like the spot spread isn't much different from the future spread?

The reason I'm asking is because I currently have some gold and silver CFDs open with another broker, but they're starting to gather a lot of fees in overnight interest. So if I could reduce these fees by instead spread betting on futures then that would be great.

Just want to make sure there's no charges I'm not seeing, before I make the switch from CFDs to spread betting on futures!

Would appreciate any info on this

    Hey,

This is correct we do offer gold and silver futures. They will have a slightly wider spread the the spot contracts but you're not charged overnight funding.

The future contracts also expire but you can call us and ask for guidance on how to change your rollover settings when you join so the futures contracts will roll into the next one on expiry. (If you have an account you can change them on the MyIG page by selecting settings> Rollovers> enable and make sure they're saved.

I would also like to know this .. I plan to open an IG share dealing ISA and transfer form my IG share dealing account .. not sure if I can transfer shares or just funds ..

You can transfer between accounts the cash only. So you have to sell and rebuy.  The process takes a few days to clear the funds as apose to instantly within the same account.  Each account has seperate annual fees. Any transfer in or out of an ISA account will affect that years ISA allowance so be careful.

You can either sell and rebuy but as @Matt5100 mentioned you have to wait a few working days for the funds to settle before you can rebuy.

You can transfer shares from your share dealing account to ISA via the Bed & ISA process, which involves selling the shares and repurchase them on the ISA account. This process can be done over the phone with one of our dealers.

It'll cost £40 in commission per line of stock to sell the shares on share dealing account but free of charge to repurchase on the ISA. There will also be spread costs which is capped to roughly £30 per line of stock, however, this is generally cheaper for the majority of stocks.

Question about my ISA account on IG, if I have more than one years ISA on IG is it seperated in the ISA account section? Or does each year of ISA open up a new account and therefore subsequent fees?
The reason I ask is I'm transfering a previous years ISA to IG from Fidelity and the cash element has gone over into the ISA account (still waiting for the shares to come over). But there is no distinction it is a separate years ISA.
It all just comes under the account ISA, even though there are now two separate years of ISA in there.. is this normal or a mistake they have made?
    Thanks and Happy New Year!!

    Hey @Matt5100

All your ISA cash and stock is held in one account. We have 2018-2019 allowance in the same account as your 2019-2020 allowance. You don't get charged double fees.

The stock transfer always takes a little bit longer than the cash to come across. If you need an update you can always live chat or email us if you need us :)

When we receive cash and stock from other providers they let us know which tax year it falls under.

I hope this helps, let me know if you need anything else by '@' me :)

Hi, i am new to IG, after a couple of weeks to observe the market on IG, i started my first trades today. Things were going fine, until I figured out something went wrong with the total profit/loss after trades.

to be in detail, I’ve found out that some how i got charged $117.29 for my $390.98 loss ( it’s on guarantee stop and i dont think it will cost me 1/3 of the amount). Moreover, right after that i got a gain of $77.45 and then they charge me $93.88 (this one is guarantee stop as well).

please note that those charge wont be showed in “closed trade tabs”, they’re showed in the “history -> transaction”

if anyone could, please explain to me about this issues as i feel like they 100% scam all of our money no matter what. Please put down your ideas, thanks.

    Hey @Ivan1602

If something is converted it's simply the profit/ loss converted at the current exchange rate.

The A$117 CRPREM charge does seem high. When we have a guaranteed stop charge we will not change it. Say you traded and the CR premium was 2pts it would be the size x contract size x 2pts. If your position is open and the CR premium changes to 40pts and your stop is triggered we will only charge you the 2 pts premium as that's what you agreed to pay when the position was opened.

I would advise reaching out to our helpdesk who can look into the account and advise you further on that charge.

    Hi,

I’ve recently opened a share trading account and have executed 4 trades to date. My understanding is that the $10 commission should only be charge on trades 1 & 2 with my 3rd and 4th trade exempt from the commission charge set at $10. Have I missed some small print ? All trades were US stocks.

    Hey @Zack99

    I hope you're well.

The reduced rate only works when you have traded 3 or more times in the pervious calendar month.

how to have a page filled with multiple charts

    Hey @oujia

I will do a run down for the desktop version. If this isn't what you needed let me know and I will be happy to help.

You have to search a market and click the 'Add to workspace' button:

    image.png

Once added you may only see one chart. You need to click the button above the deal ticket. This will separate all the charts you added to the workspace.

    image.png

Then use the corners of the graph to move them to the preferred size and location. You can also have watchlists and the news & analysis feeds on the page:

    Thanks for your post.

If you bought the shares on a share dealing/ ISA account the funds will be unavailable to use but will seem like they're on the account for 2 working days after you purchased the shares.

    Hi

How long does it take to transfer shares from another broker to my account at IG ?

If I sell shares,  how long does it take to receive my funds in my account?

    Thanks

    Hey,

Transfers usually take 4-6 weeks but it depends on how cooperative the broker you're transferring from is.

Please know our settlement period works on a T+2 (+3 for US shares) basis. This means the cash for these shares won't settle on your account the day you sell them but two working days.later. The funds should be available to withdraw by close of business 2 working days late. Please note that if you want to trade with the funds before they settle you can.

    Hello,

I made a deposit to my IG account. It got deducted with my bank as shown in my statement but I did not get the funds in my account. Please help.

    Hey,

Bank transfers usually reach us within 24 hours on a working day but can take longer.

If the funds have reached our bank account we will allocate them.

If the deposit has taken longer than this it's best to reach out to us with a bank statement showing the funds from your account to IG. Please also send this document if the funds were transferred from someone elses bank account/ business account. We will only allocate funds from an account in your name. If after 10 days the funds haven't been allocated we send them back to the account they came from.

I have funds available but when i go to withdraw funds it says not available at this time? I have withdrawn money before but never suffered this problem, am I missing something?

    Hey,

With non leveraged account you have a settlement period.

With Spread betting and CFD accounts if the funds are available you should be able to withdraw them. If you're having issues with one of these account please reach out to us.

As per the title I would like to close a demo account but cannot view how to do this.

I applied for a spreadbetting account and a demo spreadbetting account is now displaying in my dashboard. I no longer require the spreadbetting account (which is pending until the "Demonstrate Your Knowledge" test is completed) and would really like to have it removed from the dashboard. Is this possible?

    Hey,

To close an account demo or live please email us at helpdesk.uk@ig.com with a request to do so and we will be happy to help.

I'm currently displaying my charts off a relatively small screen, and want to be space efficient as possible.

Is there a way to hide the "News & Analysis" bar that appears on the bottom of charts?

    Thank you in advance.

Thank you for letting me know about this.

It's actually something we're looking to set up for next year and that was a preview for our team.

Apologies for any confusion, I've tried to hide it but if it's still showing on the feed I will get it deleted.

Thanks again for the heads up! 👍

I am relatively new to IG and have only recently started to receive dividend payments on earlier trades. Out of 14 dividend payments 9 are incorrect, one by 15%. I have tried support and emailing but no response. Has anyone else had this experience and how did you resolve it?

    Thanks

    Wilky 1009

    Hey @Wilky1009

    Thanks for you first post.

We pass the cash to our clients we receive from our brokers and if this has incorporated withholding tax then that will be the reason. Unfortunately we're not able to give out too much tax advice/ information but if you check the stocks you may be able to see if it was subject to tax.

    Hi,

I am planning to buy shares for long term investment. I am not interested in trading daily weekly or monthly even for that matter.

Am I at the right place? Or I need to look into other options?

    Hey,

If you're looking to buy shares on the share dealing or ISA account here are the charges you need to know. We would love for you to join our IG traders but it's best you have the right provider for your trading.

Custody fee £24 a quarter. If in those 3 months you trade 2 times you do not have to pay this charge. Say you traded twice and the commission was £20, the custody fee would be (£24-£10) £4.

You can also find a break down of commission fees and other fees by following this link: https://www.ig.com/uk/investments/share-dealing/costs-fees

All the best and I hope this helps.

    Hi,

Would it be possible to add the opening and closing times of the London and New York session times onto my trading chart, if so can you please advise how to do this.

    Thank you for the help

    Hey,

We're looking to potentially add a clock showing the openings/ closing times of the share exchanges. I will also put this idea forward to our team and see which they prefer.
