Many other markets show such kind of spikes, what happen if that spike, not seen in any other broker, cost you a stop triggering? and making a loss?
If the spike is incorrect it will not trigger your stops/ limits.
If for any reason the spike does (which is extremely rare), IG would be able to see this and would reinstate the position.

Hi @CharlotteIG
I just posted a question similar, but seeing this post wanted to respond to this for a better understanding of my scenario.
I am in UK but deal entirely on US ETF , TQQQ SOXL and TNA TZA.
Now though in some trades when it says profit, I have noticed that there is a loss in my account. I do as much as 3 in a month .
So my question to you is ;
1. If I choose to stay in Dollars for my trades, I am getting a feel that it might be a bit more profitable. But I am not sure with the charges, is it $15 every trade , both buy and sell?
2. Do the conversion fees be not charged then if its dollar and trading US ETF?
3. Do I need to convert before withdrawal manually or will it be converted before withdrawal anyway? Any charges then?
Will be really helpful with the answer.
Regards
Arindom
Hey @Arindom,
Thanks for your post.
1. If you choose to change your conversion from instant to manual you will be subject to the old commission fees which is a minimum of $15 (or 2 cents per share depending on which is larger) when you buy and sell. (So if you're buying and selling stock that's less than the 2 cents per share minimum you will have to pay $15 to buy and another $15 to sell.
2. If you only have dollars on your account and you're buying US stock there will not be any conversion fees. When you sell the stock it will go straight into your dollar pot so again no conversion fees.
3. This one is a little more tricky. So yes we do allow you to deposit and withdraw in dollars (when your base currency is sterling) however if you're new to IG and you deposited all the funds in sterling we may ask you to send the funds back in sterling. (please note these are rules that apply for share dealing accounts. With an ISA you have to convert the funds back to sterling.).
I hope this helps and if you need me for anything else @ me

How to unblocked my account?
Hey,
There may be different reasons your account it locked.
The most common reason is that you've entered your password incorrectly 3 times. If this is the case you need to give us a call so we can unlock it for you.

When giving details about annual income and current savings to set up a live account, what form of proof are you looking for? Is a screenshot of a bank statement okay for example?
Thanks.
Hey,
Thanks for your post.
Every scenario is different.
For proof of earnings a pay slip would be sufficient (although 2 would be better to show consistency). For wealth it needs to be cash or money held in stocks/ crypto. It cannot be a house.
I hope this helps. If you're still unsure reach out to us at helpdesk.uk@ig.com.

IG is advertising that Ant Group shares can be traded in grey markets before the IPO.
Where are grey markets located in the demo account?
Hey,
On the live account it can be located in the popular markets section.
Sometimes we do not reflect in the demo account because of it's volatility. All resources must go into making the live as good as it can be.

Hello, I'm new to IG and trading in general. I would like to find one to one training where someone can take me through trading strategies / analysis and the IG platform. I envisage a regular commitment of at least 5 or 6hrs per week face to face (zoom) contact. Eg Mon 2hrs, Tue 1hr, etc. I'd be looking to trade with real money from the outset and obviously pay for the training.
Is there such a service? If so any recommendations on where to look?
Thanks in advance for any help and pointers.
Cheers
Hey @Chainey,
We don't offer one to one service but you are more than welcome to do our online courses.
If you still have questions please give us a call and we will be happy to walk you through anything. And of course you can ask me anything by putting @CharlotteIG in your post.

Is it possible to sort by %Change when viewing products? Currently we are able to sort by the instruments name but it would be useful to have an easy way to view which instruments have moved the most across the day. This can help with generating trade ideas. Other platforms have this feature and it would be nice to have it available.
Hey @fxvalt,
This is something we're working and will hopefully reflect in the platform soon.

I've heard some platforms don't charge commissions for limit orders and some even pay for placing these orders to incentivise liquidity. Is the commission on limit orders on CFD account any different to the standard commission for market order on CFD account on IG platform?
Hey,
Limit orders do not have a different charge from normal deal orders.
We change spread on most products apart from CFD share which charge commission.

Hey,
There's no plans to change leverage. What you may see with the elections are large stop losses due to volatility.

Hi,
Sometimes i trade bonds and was wondering if its possible to change the increments to 1/32 instead of decimals?
thanks
Hey @Zingerbox,
There's no way to change back to 1/32. I will put this forward as feedback.
If you're thinking of sometimes calling us to put on orders you can give us instructions in 1/32 as all dealers are trained to take those orders.
I will, as mentioned, pass on this as feedback. If you trade bonds a lot and are used to tradng in 1/32 it can be frustrating having to use decimals.

Does anyone have a recent video tutorial ir can perhaps show a walk through on how to set these up?
I added metatrader to IG account and got he email and can see the account on my IG but when I go to add the login detail on meta trader I get a "boing" sound and it doesn't link up right now I am trying to do it all on the demo but have a live account too
Hey @JayBee,
I don't have a video but I have the link and step by step if that helps:
1. Download MetaTrader 4 from http://www.ig.com/content/dam/publicsites/igcom/mt4/ig4setup.exe
2. Once downloaded, launch the setup file
3. The installation will start with an introduction to MT4, click ‘Next’ to proceed
4. Review the terms and conditions, and click ‘Next’ if you agree to these
5. Choose the directory on your PC to install MT4 to. From here you can also choose to add a desktop icon and to launch MT4 once the installation is complete. Once satisfied, click Next
6. MT4 will now start installing
7. Once complete the platform will open automatically. You can also launch MT4 from your desktop, or via the Start menu.
