Do you lose on your trade even if it set to rollover?
Yes, your loss or profit would be realised.
-
Hi @metronomist
Yes that is correct. The benefit is that you do not pay overnight funding on futures contracts. This is beneficial if you intend to hold a position over the long term. Remember a charge is different from a loss/profit incurred on a position

Hi @metronomist
Thanks for the query.
The initial position is closed at a loss, then a new position will be opened. Please see the rollover section on the platform for details on how this occurs. Please see the following screenshot:

Hi @PapaRagi
Thanks for the query.
We pay dividends to your trading account. Administratively it would be easier to wait until after the payment date, then withdraw your dividend, then instruct us to close the account.

Thanks for the query.
Please see the following link for the products we offer on MT4: https://www.ig.com/uk/trading-platforms/metatrader-4
You should be able to access these products below the FX pairs in the market watch window.
If you are unable to access the other products besides FX then you may be on a US based account where we are only able to offer FX. In this case if you are based in the UK then you would need to create a new demo from the UK based site.

Hi @FOYBOY
Thanks for the feedback.
Please note that you hold market maker stocks. These use the SETSqx trading system. There is no order book. Any limit order would only execute if a matched limit order was uncrossed and executed at auction uncrossing times. Good till canceled expiry is not available for these stocks on exchange.

Hi @Sam252
Thanks for the query.
Assuming you are referring to monthly SPX options, these settle basis the special opening quotation (SOQ) on the 3rd Friday. This is at the cash open ie 1430 UK time.
We have no influence on this auction and usually receive the settlement level around 2.45/3pm UK time on expiry day.
Please see the following link from the exchange with the product details:

Hi @FOYBOY
Thanks for the query.
We do not offer guaranteed stops on non-leveraged accounts i.e. not on a ISA or share dealing account. Stop losses are OTC products that are not available on exchange orders.
However you can place a sell stop order and specify a price that you would like to sell at as your order level. Its best to use a good till cancelled expiry so that the order is effective for 90 days.

Hi @jdevaux
Thanks for the query.
Looks like the share price has tanked on open on the back of revenue contribution from the body armour segment being significantly reduced. Please see the following link: https://www.sharecast.com/news/news-and-announcements/avon-protection-warns-over-body-armour-revenue-contribution--8521866.html

Hi @cate
Thanks for the query,
There has been no change in policy. Due to a bank holiday we applied 4 days worth of funding on Tuesday night, which would of covered Wednesdays charges. You held the position long enough to be charged only for Wednesday night, thus effectively you managed to avoid the charge. I hope that helps.

Dear IG,
I've researched what's on "offer" in the UK in terms of options Trading platforms and there really isn't much competition. IG/PRT are definitely ahead, (although Saxo Bank has a reasonable and complex platform but with no Option Charts and Interactive Brokers have needlessly over complicated theirs). Are there any plans to expand upon what's available for Option traders or to launch a new all in one Option Trading Platform (like Ameritrade's)?
I appreciate PRT also has Option Charts and Option Chains displaying IV, Delta and the Greeks but it'd be nice to have a one stop platform so I don't have to go to or use lots of other resources like online or in Excel:POP probability calculators/"Moneyness" Probability Percentages,
Volatility Smiles,
Risk/Reward Tables,
Strategy Builders and Optimisers,
IV Structure Charts for different Contract Lengths,
Probability Cones,
Put/Call Ratios,
Open Interest,
Black Scholes Calculator,
Are there any plans by IG to expand on what they currently offer as fat as Options trading goes?
Cheers
Bard.
Hi Bard,
Thanks for the feedback.
We are always looking at ways to improve our offering. There is work in place to show some greeks on the platform. However there is still no estimated date of completion. Regardless we appreciate the feedback and we will share this post with the relevant desk for consideration.

Hi @FungLee
Thanks for the query.
You would get that message if you are trading an ETF that is not HMRC approved for ISA accounts. You can place the trade from your share dealing account.

Guaranteed stop
in Foreign Exchange (FX)
Posted
Hi Dean,
You are on a limited risk account, this means that all trades that you place need to have a guaranteed stop. If you were on a standard account you would have the option to use a normal stop, which has smaller minimum stop distances. You can contact our helpdesk to enquire about upgrading your account to a standard account. They will take you through a questionnaire to assess your suitability.
All the best,
Anda
