  1. Who are you talking to? I've been sat here 6 years full time. This forum only started at the end of 2015, I've been posting continuously since March 2016. Who, in any way shape or form is interested in proving any thing to you?

Worryingly this is usually about the time Trump chooses to ratchet up the trade war threats though it might be different this time

And there he goes again, Trump's tweets of the last hour sends weekend wall street down. Also along the lines mentioned in the Bannon vid above.

  3. @Markokucic,  ok, the ID is 4 letters and 1 number and not 5 letters, if it's not that then it must be asking for the 'mt4 ID' instead which should be directly below on the dashboard and is 5 numbers. Also see that it's asking for your 'investor' password not your master password, you can easy get another one if you can't remember it, just let us know. No need to post a pic of any personal info though.

  4. Just to update this chart. US Oil has recently put in a lower high and now a lower low but wait, does that automatically mean it has turned bearish? Would you automatically assume a reversal? What would be the most probable scenario from just looking at the chart structure?

The most probable next phase is always going to be consolidation, that's a statistical fact, on any chart. V reversals tend to be caused by a fundamental shift and are relatively rare. As we have seen from the SSI thread, trying to pick tops and bottoms is the number one strategy for retail clients, the same guys who are wrong 80% of the time.

So looking at just the chart structure where would you expect the bulls to be gathering to mount a serious challenge after their profit taking (and if the fundamentals were encouraging enough for them to even try)? NB; Oil likes round numbers.

  5. CHESS  (and it's HIN) is only used in Australia and for stocks traded on the Australian Securities Exchange whereas IG use the Custodian Model which is the global standard, can be used for any international stocks and is also more cost effective so they are not going to change.

There is no promise but it is hoped that DRiP will be on the new share dealing platform when it arrives which can't be far away as the old platform uses Flash which is due to be discontinued by Adobe very soon.

  6. @Turnip230248,  so if you are trading with IG you are trading IG's contracts, I'm not sure IG offer access to the CM exchange even on the DMA platform (you could check).

So you would probably need a US broker that offered trades in cme's micro lots. When the US regulator brought in rules to save the poor retail client they not only lowered leverage (not as much as esma) but also brought in minimum account deposits for different account types that range from $10,000 upwards to 25K and I suspect that would still apply whether you were trading micro lots or not or reside in the US or not.

  7. So just to round today off, the morning call was good but waiting for the hour after London open meant missing a large move but I still placed the option anyway (demo) when price was below R1, so the buy call at strike at £10/point was 13s so the max possible loss was £130, it was my intention to close at end of day (which would have been pnl neutral) but I forgot.

ps, does anyone know how to close an option after market close?

  8. The NFP data was actually mixed, though the jobs increase number was good the just as important Average Hourly Earnings increase was less than expected.

Dow stalled at R1 while Dax stalled before R2 and Ftse just missed R2. Being Friday afternoon difficult to say where to from here.

  9. NFP coming up, both charts looking like wanting to go higher, this 12400 is a big level for Dax and if can get a break to the upside could see a run to R2 around 12475. Dow needs to break the green dotted hourly resistance level to try for yesterday's point of control the red dash at 26415 then yesterday's high at 26481.
