  1. Hi @Burim

    Thanks for reaching out,

When 2 FA is activated you need your password together with the authenticator app verification code to be input in the password box for a successful login. Unfortunately we cant be more specific than this as this is a public forum. However should you still be having difficulty feel free to reach out to helpdesk.uk@ig.com or use our live chat feature.

    All the best,

  2. Hi @TFFX_

    Thanks for reaching out,

The company has announced 2 corporate actions, a spin off and a reverse stock split (Consolidation).

Spin off: the terms are that you will receive 1 Haleon share for every GSK share that you own.

Reverse stock split: the terms are 4:5. Thus your share holding will be reduced in the ratio 4/5 i.e. you will own 4 shares for every 5 that you previously owned. Share price will increase in the same ratio so that P/L is not impacted as a result of the consolidation.

Please see some links so assist in the understanding of these kind of events.

  3. Hi @Alexandrelobao

    Thanks for reaching out,

    1. We do have the US 30 under the name Wallstreet

    2. We only have a select number of markets on MT4, the full product range can be traded from the IG platform.

    3. You should be able to start a live chat through a pop up on the website.

  4. Hi @Cedric

    Thanks for reaching out,

When trading FX pairs you are effectively long one currency and short the other. When you hold a position overnight you earn interest on the currency you are long and pay interest on the currency you are short. This interest differential between the two currencies is what determines whether you pay or receive interest on a position held overnight. This is a simplified explanation but I hope you get the concept. In reality we use the TOMNEXT rate (a tradeable swap rate) which we would then add a 0.8% admin fee to. You can add the swap rates inclusive of the admin fee to the platform so that you are able to get an indication of whether you are paying or receiving interest on a particular pair. You can learn more about this here:

  5. Hi @Niiade73

    Thanks for reaching out,

When using stops you are not guaranteed to be closed out at your specified stop level unless you are using a guaranteed stop. This is important to note as when there is an aggressive pull back from the market slippage may occur. You can learn more about slippage and guaranteed stops from the following link:

  6. Hi @FOUR9FINE

    Thanks for reaching out,

Stop losses are only available on spread betting or CFD trading. They are not available on the share dealing platform. This is because they are OTC orders not available on the underlying exchange.

You can however use a stop order to exit your position at a particular level. In order to achieve this select 'stop order' from the order types section on the deal ticket. Remember as this is not a typical stop loss order your order would be executed at the closest available price once triggered.

You can learn more about this from the following link:

  7. Hi @anthonyli01

    Thanks for reaching out,

We are no longer offering US ETFs to retail accounts as we are unable to provide a KID (Key Investor Document) at the point of sale.

Regulation (EU) No 1286/2014 (the PRIIPs) regulation states that all retail clients must be provided with a Key Information Document (KID) prior to the purchase on any security (PRIIP) within the scope of the regulation.

Unfortunately the only solution is if you are able to qualify for a professional account.

  8. Hi @Dannymacca

    Thanks for reaching out,

The ex-date for the spin off was 30th June 2022, so you would have needed to hold the shares on market close prior to the ex-date to be eligible for the shares. However none of our clients have received their entitlements at the moment as we are still waiting to receive the shares from our prime broker. We are chasing our broker daily on this.

    All the best,

    Anda
