  1. You can only do this from the web based platform, if you are clicking on the buy button on the share dealing ticket the first time it will trigger the TFN (tax file number) pop up so you can enter it. If this is not the case please reach out to us on helpdesk.au@ig.com

  5. Thanks for your post. I've passed your email address onto our corporate actions team so they can reach out to your previous broker. When transferring out they shouldn't need that information. (Just for you to know, the Crest ID is exchanged by brokers, we wouldn't give that information to traders so it should not have been asked from you). All the best, this should get sorted within the week.
  6. Thanks for your post, I will pass the email linked to your community account to our account opening team to query this. All the best
  7. Thanks for your post. We do allow clients to scalp, we have no issues with that. The minimum deposit by card is £250 but we do not require you to have £250 on the account. All the best
  8. We usually say 1-2 working days after the pay date. These were paid out on the 9th June, 2 working days later and should now be reflected on your account.
  9. If you're short the index would have moved down (and you would have been in profit) by the same amount that was debited from the account. This is an adjustment not a profitable move. If you check the video in the blog it explains why this happens.
  10. Other members have mentioned the large minimum stop distance. I have relayed the message to our exposure/ risk teams to see if they can be tightened.
  11. Thanks for your post. Sometimes stocks go to closings only if: The market capitalisation has decreased Not enough clients trade the stock. If you let me know the stock and I can check with out shares desk the reason. All the best
  12. Hey, If the amount of shares you're trying to purchase is less that £90 we will reject it. With the commission it may not be worth it. Please be aware if you're trying to purchase UK shares they're quoted in pence. For example Barclays is quoting at 119.3/119.4, the actual price is £1.193/£1.194. I hope this helps

  14. Improve trading performance with our new tool Discover our new trade analytics tool, designed to help you evaluate and improve your trading performance. Accessed directly in the platform, it enables you to: · Gain deeper insight into your winning and losing trades · Identify and eliminate expensive trading mistakes · See your total returns, including all fees and adjustments · Monitor how much you pay in costs and charges We want you to keep building on your trading successes. To do that, you need data that lets you see exactly what worked well, and what didn’t. That’s why we’ll soon be adding extra features to make your trades even more transparent, as we continue to enhance the tool. Where can I find the tool? The new feature can be found in the ‘live accounts’ tab in My IG and select ‘trade analytics’ on the left-hand menu. Where can I discuss this tool in the community We did test this tool with some traders late last year meaning some clients would have seen the tool before others. If you want to chat with other traders about this feature, click on the forum below:
  15. Thanks for your post. These shares are currently non-leveraged and unborrowable meaning you can't short new shares on a leveraged account. If this is on a share dealing account, you may have to wait 10 minutes before the market opened to but on a 'on exchange' order. If you wish to trade 'At quote' you have to wait until the markets open.
  16. If you're from the UK you can trade stocks on a spread betting account. The fee would be the spread x your bet size. You may find this more cost effective for your trading strategy.
  17. Thanks for your post. This order type is a limit order. This means the price you have chosen is better than the current market price. I the market gaps and reaches 6100 that is where we would open you. Meaning you will have a sell order to open at a better price than you set. If you'd set the market order to open at a price of 5600, then the market gapped down to 5400 that is where your sell order would open (at a worse price). I hope this clears things up.
  18. Thanks for your post. With some popular markets we offer '(all sessions), this means you can trade on the platform in the pre and post market. (example Apple). If there's a US stock you want to trade pre market you can but you have to call us to deal. All the best
  19. It makes battery-electric and hydrogen-electric trucks and gained 20% on Tuesday after doubling during Mondays trading session. Some of Mondays surge came after a Tweet from CEO Trevor Milton Is this something worth investing in or will the bullish movement be short lived?
  20. Thanks for your comment. It's simply your size x 0.11. On a spread betting account is you were trading £2 per point it would be (£2 x 0.11 so £0.22) With CFD, the contract size (for a normal contract) is £10. If you were holding 2 contracts it would be 2 x £10 x 0.11 = £2.20.
  21. Thanks for your comment. FTSE dividend are adjusted at 16:30 BST. As long as you don't hold the position through that time you will not be subject to the adjustments. You could close the position at 16:29, and reopen at 16:31 if you want to avoid the adjustment
  22. Thanks for this. Are you referring to the MyIG page? Let me know and I can pass the information on All the best
  23. Thanks for your post. If you bought this on a share dealing/ isa account you will be paid the dividends but it doesn't get paid out till the pay date. Even if you sell the shares now, because you held them over the ex dividend date, you will still be paid the dividend. I hope this helps.
  24. Expected index adjustments Please see the expected dividend adjustment figures for a number of our major indices for the week commencing 8th June 2020.
