    The VIX is a real-time volatility index, created by the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE). It was the first benchmark to quantify market expectations of volatility. But the index is forward looking, which means that it only shows the implied volatility of the S&P 500 (SPX) for the next 30 days.

    When slippage occurs it just means your trade is stopped at a worse price than you wanted.

    In the trade referred to above I saw the sell price drop several points lower than the Stop Level and stay there for several minutes before going back above it when I ended the trade.

    That is correct it would be at the stop level or lower. If your position was not closed while it should have been. Please reach out to helpdesk.uk@ig.com. The Helpdesk will have access to your order history to investigate on the matter.

    To remove any risk of slippage the best option is a guaranteed stop : https://www.ig.com/uk/glossary-trading-terms/guaranteed-stop-definition

    I contacted via live chat yesterday and was told I needed to increase my available funds. I have done this but still unable to adjust the stop loss.

    It's definitely not a temporary thing dependent on liquidity.

    Are there notifications available when  so called UNBORROWABLE STOCK is reinstated as Borrowable? 

    Is there a log which shows when certain stocks were classified as UNBORROWABLE?

    in February 2021 some markets were moved to Stockbroking only as the market cap/ net asset were low, it was a business decision. KOLD is one of them:

    I don't believe there is notifications showing a change of status from unborrowable to available.
    I will forward your remark to the relevant department to make the status of a stock clearer.

    It is likely that there was a slippage :

    Your stop won't be triggered as the price level would have jumped over your stop.

    Unfortunately it would be too late to take up the offer.  21/09/21 4:30pm UK time - The Deadline date is the point where Sharedealing and ISA clients need to make sure the total available cash amount to take up the offer is available on their account.

    at 10pm roughly it kicked me out saying it reached my stop of 27090.53 but it didn't reach that figure , in fact no where near.

    I even checked the minute chart.

    what am I doing wrong ?  I need to trust this platform before I invest real money .

    To change the background colour on a Ipad, you will need to go to the Ipad Settings > Display & Brightness and select Light or Dark. The IG App will automatically match that setting.

    When it was left to the brokers they allowed retail to trade crypto and most indices/forex on 0.5% margin. So it’s not IG that don’t want you to do it, they don’t care if you overleverage and lose as they just make the spread and hedge the exposure.
